William and Connie
June 15, 1996-Present

Girl meets boy...
On December 7, 1995 I went out with friends to a country dance club called "Cowboy's"
to celebrate my upcoming graduation from college.  We ran into some other people that
we knew and William was hanging out with that group.  It was too weird that we met at a
club in Atlanta when we were both from the same county about an hour away from there!

Anyway, I was receiving too much attention from this guy that I had no interest in so I saw
Will sitting over on the fringes of the group and I walked over to him and asked if it was
ok for me to stand with him.  We talked for a minute (if you can call screaming over music
at top notch a conversation), then I asked him if he liked to dance.  Neither of us are much
for the "country scene", but we danced anyway..until closing as a matter of fact which
was 3 a.m.

I gave him my number and he was "supposed" to call me the following day..he didn't lol!
Nor did he bother to call me in the following 5 days, little did he know that this was what
really got my attention!  I had never had a guy "supposed" to call and then didn't so I was
perplexed and a little ticked off because I had told him that if he really didn't intend to
call then don't put me through the trouble of writing down my number!  SO when a week
passed without a call from him I grabbed the phone book and called him up..

I won't ever forget that conversation lol..he answers and I say "well, well guess who didn't
bother to call me" his reply was "Miss Connie" rofl!  Says the usual "guy thing" I got busy,
forgot to call, then too much time passed and I figured you'd be mad so I was afraid to call.
(Later I found out that he didn't call because he had little faith that things would work out).

Our first date..
We set up a date to go out the following Friday night after I called him :)  He picked me up
at my parents home (with my dad sitting cleaning the shotgun *wink*)..then we headed to
Applebee's for supper and over to see the Hardy Christmas lights (it's a Georgia thang lol)!
Afterward we wound up at his house and did a little "necking"!

Our second date..
We set up a second date that took place on Sunday after our first one.  He picked me up
on his big beautiful motorcycle (oh my mom loved this lol).  I had always went more for
the fraternity, preppy sportscar kind of guy and my parents had NO idea what to think!
We spent the entire Sunday together decorating his house for Christmas and just talking.

We're moving fast now..
The following week he invited me to spend New Year's in Gatlinburg , TN with him and a
couple of his close friends.  I did..this is where we fell in love :) *big sighs*!  It was a
short and sweet trip which by far outshines any "vacation" that I have ever been on.

Wanna get hitched?
Around the first week of January (the exact date is still up for debate lol) we went out to
the same club where we met with another couple to celebrate our "one month anniversary"!
We had both been sampling the spirits a bit too much and while we were dancing Will says to
me "Why don't we get hitched?" Romantic huh?  ROFL..I said ok sure thinking that he
wouldn't even remember the next day!  Well he did and so did I so we were engaged!

Not without a ring..
I refused to tell my parents until I had a ring on my finger (spoiled brat huh *giggle)! So on
Valentine's Day 1996 Will presented me with my engagement set!  A 2K, marquis cut diamond
w/ set in the center of six smaller diamonds..stunning (because I picked it out lol)!  I told
my parents we were going to get married on June 15th, by now they had gotten to know Will
and loved him so it was cool!  Until mom realized that I meant June 15th as in 4 months
from now and not a year and 4 months lol..she immediately went into her "mother of the
bride" mode and the planning was on!

The princess gets her prince..
That is the first thing that my mom said to me on the morning of my wedding not that
I fancy myself a princess, but Will's last name (my too now) is Prince so it was a long
running joke in my family. Somehow we managed to pull of the "wedding of the century"
in those 4 short months complete with 18 attendants, the 2 mile long train, the cake
that touched the rafter's, orchestra, etc. lol It really was a beautiful ceremony, if
you'd like to see our pictures (some of them at least) you can click here!

We spent 8 incredible days in Cancun, Mexico for our honeymoon!  We had a blast,
but it was such a long trip that we were both glad to get back home to begin our lives
together :)

They said it'd never last..
Ha~Did they ever lol!  Well four years later we are still going strong :)  With one precious
little testament of our love, Hayden  (check out his pages too) who was born in
October 15, 1997 (do the math if you were wondering)!  We have just moved into our new
dreamhome this past March 2000 and are presently planning for little Prince (or Princess)
number two..I'll let you know when that idea becomes a reality *wink*!

Thanks for reading our story today :)
I think it just goes to show that love finds us when least expected & in the most
unlikely places!
I'm so thankful to be married to my best friend and my mom was
right I did get my Prince!
