~ Congratulations Alex
~
This page is dedicated
to my son Alex. He is graduating from 6th grade this June.
Alex this will be the first of many graduations that you will have.
Your father and I are so very proud of you. We love you very very much.
We want you to remember that you can be anything that you want to be, as
long as you set your mind to it. Reach for the stars, my beautiful
son and you will go far.
Alex will be entering
middle school this September and is going to be in the gifted program.
He did outstanding work throughout his years in elementary school and
always made First Honors. He is also the Salutatorian for his graduating class and also received 9 awards. Alex your graduation from 6th grade is
your stepping stone into your future. In two years you will graduate from
middle school, then high school and finally from college. Daddy and
I wish you all the best of luck, love and happiness in your future.
This poem is dedicated
to ALL students.
'Twas The Night Before
Midterms
'Twas
the night before midterms and all through my head.
Not a fact was remembered-how
I wish I were dead.
My brain was all jumbled-my
knees were both quaking, I couldn't remember anything-BOY WAS I SHAKING!
I jumped out of my bed
with such a clatter, I awakened my mother who screamed, "What's the matter?"
I didn't reply. I sat
and I crammed.
My eyes were all bleary-my
thoughts were all jammed.
I telephoned Randy, and
Andy and Gail.
We all were hysterical-we
knew we would fail.
We came to the classroom-our
faces were white,
and we showed the strain
of studying all night.
Our number two pencils
were ready to write, we were glad we had studied at least last night.
We all tried the trick,
which pupils know by heart,
we wanted to sit next
to a kid that was smart.
THE MORAL OF THIS STORY,
though it's been heard times before,
Is study all term long
and not the night before.

Cynthia graduated high school with me
in the Class of 77. Cynthia if you ever see this, I want you to know
that your poem is a winner!
