This page is dedicated to
me
Congratulations Sandi!
You may be wondering why
I have a page dedicated to myself. Well, I will tell you. Long ago,
back in 1977 a foolish young 18 year old girl named Sandi went to college. Sandi
always hated school. Not because she wasn't smart, but because she
never tried hard at her studies. Sandi attended college for three
years, failed a lot of her courses and then dropped out. She pretty much
just wasted her mother's money and took up space. The only good thing that
came out of college for Sandi was that is where she met her husband. So
after Sandi dropped out, she got a job and went to work. A few years
later Sandi married Jay, and a few years after that Sandi and Jay had a
couple of kids. Sandi always regretted dropping out of school and
wanted to go back and finish her degree. She spoke to her friends
and family about this. They all said "Sandi, remember you will have
to re-take that algebra class that you failed all those years ago."
Sandi said that was ok because this time she will pass everything.
When Sandi's youngest son started kindergarden, Sandi went back to college.
She was 39 years old. Sandi was very nervous about going back because
she was much older than the students and also because she remembered how
poorly she did the first time. This time Sandi was determined to
study very hard and do well in school. That algebra class that she
took all those years ago, she passed with an A. She studied
for every test, did her homework and sat right in the front row.
All the professors loved her. Sandi not only did well, but made the Dean's
List twice. June 4th is Sandi's graduation day. Not only will
she be graduating at 45 years of age, but she is graduating with Honors.
Sandi is very proud of herself. Her husband, her mother and her two
sons will be attending the ceremony to watch Sandi walk down the aisle
and become a college graduate.
Sandi's advice to any young
people who may be reading this, is to stay in school when you are young.
Do well and do not goof off because you will DEFINITELY pay for
it later. Trust me, I know, I was once a foolish teenager. Please stay in school and do well. Education means success.
