Willa Cather (1873-1947)
This site includes a timeline, a biography, and a collection of works of the author of "My Antonia" and "O Pioneers!" Nice site....
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886)
A great page for one of America's greatest poets, including 440 of her poems on-line, biographical and scholarly information.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
A superb guide to resources on the figure at the heart of the Transcendentalist movement in American literature, including extexts, bios, images and other resources.
Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961)
Excellent site includes a brief biography, Heminway trivia, pictures, and the Hemingway family tree, among its many offerings.
Washington Irving (1783-1859)
A selected bibliography and the complete text of a few of Irving's works, including "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."
Sinclair Lewis (1885-1951)
The author of "Babbit" was the first American to win the Nobel Prize for Literature, in 1930. Read his autobiography and Nobel acceptance speech at the Nobel Foundation website.
Jack London (1876-1916)
Includes a biography, texts from 25 different books, a bibliography, the author's letters, and more.
Herman Melville (1819-1891)

Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849)

John Milton (1608-1674)

Jonathan Swift (1667-1745)
A very well designed, graphically enhanced version of "Gulliver's Travels." Includes biographical information and a bibliography, as well as a dictionary for some of the more difficult, archaic words. Nice!
William Makepeace Thackeray (1811-63)
