=====================================================================

      “Night Will.”

“Night Buffy.” She threw her hair back in a ponytail and lay back, waiting for sleep to come and erase the horrible memories in her head.

      “Buffy?”

      “Yeah?”

“I’m so sorry, I can’t tell you how sorry I am.”

“Willow, it’s okay, it wasn’t that bad.” She paused for a second and reflected. “Okay, maybe it was Willow, but the important thing is that you stopped it. Now go to sleep. We have class in the morning.”

      “Right, goodnight Buffy.”

“Goodnight Willow.” She closed her eyes and fell asleep quickly.

************

She was gently awoken to cool fingers roaming over her stomach, gently pushing her shirt up. His fingers found a nipple and rolled it between them, while another hand continued a lower exploration, easing itself under her boxers, caressing her dark curls. Meanwhile, a cool tongue grazed over her neck and up her jaw. “Oh Angel! I’ve missed you so much.”

“I’ve missed you too Slayer.” She opened her eyes to meet blue ones staring at her.

************

“SPIKE!” She shot up out of bed panting, horrified. Upon further thought, after lying back down, she found herself rather turned on. She rolled over on her side trying to go back to sleep, but it was no use. She got and up and went to the bathroom. It was late and no one was there, so she went into a shower stall and brought herself to orgasm, so she could have some relief. She went back to bed and fell asleep.

------------------------------

      “Bloody hell!”

      “Morning to you too Spike.”

“Since I can’t keep my normal schedule, are you at least going to bring me my breakfast?”

“Spike, some of us have things to do, and it wouldn’t kill you to be patient.”

“I’m not a patient fellow, tend to get a little violent when I have to wait, SO BRING ME MY BREAKFAST!”

“Or what? You can’t do anything on account of the chip and your being chained up anyway. You’ll learn to patient or you’ll find out what it’s like to be dust. I’m going out and I will feed you when I get back.” With that Giles left and Spike heard the front door close and lock.

“Well, great! He didn’t even turn the telly on.” He put his head back on the tub and closed his eyes.

************

The room was dark, he could see nothing, he couldn’t smell anything, except vanilla. He liked it when Dru would wear it. He closed his eyes and felt tiny hands on his chest, running up his shoulders and around his neck, drawing him in for a kiss. Her tongue ran over his lips and parted them as it slipped inside his mouth. She wasn’t as cool as he remembered, his Dru. He opened his eyes and was met by green ones.

************

“SLAYER!” His eyes shot open as he realized it was just a dream that created an ever-growing problem. “BLOODY HELL!” He screamed. “Think bad thoughts. Xander... Anya... hell even Anya sounds good... Giles... Slayer... no... Xander... Giles... Slayer... Xander naked...” he had to think of anything that wouldn’t feed his arousal, “Slayer naked... NO!” He threw his head back against the tiles trying to snap himself out of it.

      “Morning Buffy.”

“Hey Will, Giles called, he was going out but is looking for a Spike-sitter this afternoon.”

      “I’ve got a... a date, I guess.”

“Will, a date? Who’s the lucky guy?”

“No, not that kind, its just Wicca group.”

“Thought you’d given up on that.”

“Well, sort of, I don’t know, it’s something to do and after my last spell, I need all the help I can get, even if from Wiccan wannabes.”

“Well, I think you’re an awesome witch, you just have to practice. I guess I’ll be pulling Spike duty then.” Great! She couldn’t do that. What would she say to him? She just had to keep her cool.

“Okay, I’ll see you later, are we patrolling tonight?”

“I don’t know, I’ll get back to you later.”

“Okay, bye.” Willow left and Buffy was alone in the room again. She had class in an hour, enough time to shower and eat. Shower... her thoughts traveled to her activities in the shower. She had thought of Spike, not Angel, not some other hottie, but Spike? She laid back, she had to admit, he was cute, in a vampire kind of way, who was she kidding, he was a major hottie. “NO! God, what’s wrong with me? It’s Spike!” She got up and went about her business.

      “Is that you Watcher?”

“Yes it is me Spike, I’m warming up your um... you blood right now, be patient.”

“If you insist on leaving me chained up, least you could is put the telly on.”

Giles came in with a mug, “Yes, well, I forgot, I had an appointment and I was late, since I couldn’t use my shower.”

“You know,” he drank some blood, “you could just unchain me.” He drank more as he watched Giles’ face.

“Yes, well, I’ve been thinking of that, but I think that’ll be Buffy’s choice, she’ll be here this afternoon.” The Slayer? She was coming. “I have another appointment and she’ll be... um... watching you.”

“I’m not a child, I can take care of myself. I don’t need some slayer watching me like I’m some kind of invalid.”

“Yes well, you are infact an invalid, you can’t kill, you can’t fight, you very much need us, so if I were you, I’d be nice to her. I won’t stop her if she tries to stake you. Now,” he stood up, mug in hand, “if you’re quite alright, I have phone calls to make.”

“Fine, just put the telly on, Passions is coming on soon.” The Slayer... he didn’t want to see her, what would he say? Would she unchain him? Most likely not. He’d be chained up forever; he might as well be dust.

“HEY!” Buffy took her seat next to Willow for Professor Walsh’s class.

“Riley’s checking you out Buffy.” Willow said.

“Riley? He is? Really?” She looked over at him and smiled coyly. “So he is.” She smiled as she took her notebook out.

      “So what about Spike?”

      “What?”

“Spike, what are you going to do about him? I mean, he couldn’t hurt me, he couldn’t hurt anyone, what will you do?” Fuck him. No, bad Buffy.

“I don’t know Willow. Are we sure he’s fixed? Maybe I should goad him into hitting me and see what happens, run some tests, make sure he’s being honest.”

“Good idea, you can do him this afternoon.”

      “WHAT?”

“You can do that this afternoon Buffy.”

      “You said do him Will.”

“No I didn’t Buffy, I said, ‘Good idea, you can do that this afternoon.’ That’s what I said, are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m just, I didn’t get a lot of sleep, I’ll take a nap at Giles’.” Class began and she fell asleep in no time.

************

His mouth latched onto her nipple and sucked on her while a hand parted her legs. She felt a cool finger enter inside and her muscles clenched around it. She arched up to him and his kisses trailed down to her soft folds, dripping with need. His tongue ran up her slit before diving inside and grazing her nubbin before taking it in his mouth. “Oh God, Spike!”

************

Her eyes shot open. “Relax Buffy, she didn’t suspect a thing.” Willow said, packing up her books.

      “Was I snoring too bad?”

      “Nope, not at all.”

“Good.” She glanced at her watch. “I gotta get to Giles’, later.”

“Bye.” She ran out and stopped off at the room to change to shirts. “This is crazy Buffy, why are you changing for him?” She failed to answer her question and pulled out an orange tank top that was backless, save the string that tied it together. She looked at herself in the mirror, put her hair up in a ponytail and smiled. She was on her way.

He looked at the clock. Giles has said the Slayer was coming at noon, and it was almost that time. He still hang onto his hope that she would let him go that night, but he wasn’t holding his breath, or at least, he wouldn’t be if he had one. He rested his head and closed his eyes.

************

She pulled his knees toward her a little and he relaxed into the couch. Her tiny fingers released his raging hard-on from his pants and he felt her hot little fingers on him, stroking him before her tongue ran up his length. She kissed the velvet tip before taking him in her mouth, “Slayer...” he hissed.

************

She looked down at him, obviously sleeping, dreaming, saying her name. She sat on the edge of the tub and gave him the once over, and twice over, and thrice over. Her eyes settled on the ever-growing bulge between his legs. She leaned down to him and kissed his neck and he arched up into her. “Spike...” she whispered into his ear, “oh Spike...” he continued to hiss with pleasure. “SPIKE!” She screamed.

      “SLAYER!” His eyes shot open.

      “Pleasant dreams?”

      “Go to Hell Slayer.”

She got up and hopped up on the sink. “Nah, I don’t think I’ll be going to Hell, you will if you’re not nice to your ex-fiancée.” She smiled. “So, what were you dreaming out?”

“That I was draining you dry.”

She sat up straight and made a point of looking at his erection. “Always get hard from draining Slayers?”

“As a matter of fact, yes.” He looked away from her.

      “Sure.”

“Look, are you gonna let me go, or not?”

“I’m thinking about it, but you still can’t kill or hurt, so you’re basically stuck here anyway, and Giles prefers to have you chained, makes him feel safer.”

“That’s not true. He said he didn’t care if I were let up.”

“Well, that’s true, he said it was my decision, but I don’t want to.”

“Come on now... ever been chained to a bathtub? It’s not fun.”

“Well, you should have thought of that before you came here.” God, it hurt so much, so much tension. His desire couldn’t be sated, but he wanted to get out of there, to be able to try. The only thing that would satisfy him was sitting on the sink talking to him. “Well, there is one way Spike... that I’d consider letting you unchained.”

      “Name it.”

“Well, prove you can’t hurt anyone. I’ll unchain you and we’ll fight.”

“You know how much it bloody hurts?”

“Then sit in the tub, it’s your call.” She jumped off and started for the door.

“NO! Fine, we’ll fight, or you’ll hit me and I’ll stand there.”

“Well, it won’t be funny unless you try and hit back.” She flashed him a smile and he was not amused. “Fine, I’ll go get the key.” She came back in seconds and leaned over him, grazing his cheek with her lips as she whispered, “and Spike, if this is some scam to get an invite, you’ll be dust before you can say Dru. Got it?”

“If it was, don’t you think I would have killed you the other day?”

“No, we were in love.” She said jokingly but he heard her heart flutter, he smiled as she unchained him and he stood up. “Now, hit me.” She commanded. He didn’t move. “Come on, hit me or be vacuumed.” He didn’t move. He knew it would hurt. Suddenly she punched him hard and he tried to retaliate but fell back in agony.

“BLOODY HELL!” She was laughing at him.

“You really can’t hurt people can you? How ironic.”

“So am I free to go? I can’t hurt a single living soul, the big bad isn’t even scary anymore, can I go get a drink?”

“Well, although I don’t care, save for the fact that you’re halfway cute, you could get hurt if you were out on the streets. You can’t defend yourself, so where will you go?” He followed her into the kitchen, she had said he was cute.

“I don’t know. Maybe I should be dust.” He said, standing next to her as she poured herself some juice.

“Don’t say that.” He was surprised, so was she, he could tell.

“What, no demeaning remark? No witty comeback Slayer? You disappoint.” She looked back at the drink. “When is the Watcher coming back?”

      “In a few hours.”

“Well you can go do more important things, I’ll be fine.”

“Not if you’re going to commit stakeacide.”

      “Why do you care?”

“I don’t. We’re mortal enemies, I don’t care, it’s just that...” ‘Good one Buffy, how are you going to climb out of this?’ “Giles wouldn’t want to clean up the dust and all, it gets all over everything. If you do go poof in the night though, leave your jacket.” She smirked and went into the living room. He remained in the kitchen for a few minutes before following her. She had no idea why she didn’t just dust him. Maybe this was left over from the spell. Or maybe it was something that had always been there. She looked at him, as he stretched out on the couch, and closed his eyes. No, it wasn’t possible, she didn’t love him, she DID NOT. It was just loneliness.

      “Nickel for your thoughts Slayer.”

“Hmm?” He looked at her lips pressed together, she was definitely kissable.

“Isn’t that the expression, ‘nickel for your thoughts?’”

“No,” she laughed, cor, she was gorgeous. “It’s ‘penny for your thoughts’, penny, not nickel.”

“Well then, penny for your thoughts.”

“I was just thinking, that’s all.” She gave him the once over again and he noticed.

      “Thinking about me Slayer?”

      “N-n-no.”

“Say it without the stutter and you might’ve convinced me.”

“Whatever.” She stood up and he did too, they were standing millimeters from each other and he could feel the heat radiating off her, the electricity between them.

He slid his hand up her thigh and took her hand and placed it on his erection. “Thinking about this?” She smiled coyly. He wondered if she’d ever been so bluntly hit on. She turned away from him, but when he took his hand away, her hand remained. He put his hand to her cheek and turned her to him. “Shy little Slayer, aren’t you?” She jerked away from him and he caught her in the door jam. “Come on Buffy...”

He’d never called her Buffy and she looked at him. His one hand was above her head and the other one slowly crept behind her and grazed her open back with cool fingers. “Spike... let me go.” She tried to pull herself away, but she didn’t want to, he was so bold, he was no Angel. That was the point, he had no soul, he didn’t care. She walked away and put the glass in the sink.

“You did this to me Slayer.” He said, pushing his hardness into her butt.

“Oh yeah?” She asked, as his lips grazed her shoulder blades. She leaned against him and he wrapped his arms around her waist and his fingertips grazed her navel. “Mmm...” she closed her eyes as his fingers continued their journey under her shirt. No! She pulled away. “This has to stop, they’re just dreams, it means nothing. I love Angel and you love Drusilla and it’s just sexual frustration. Now stay away or I’ll stake you.” She sat down on the couch.

“You’ve been having dreams too?” He asked, sitting across from her, his elbows on his knees, leaning toward her. “I thought it was just me.”

“No Spike, it’s me too, in the middle of psych class this morning and last night.”

“Maybe it’s still the spell wearing off.”

“I don’t think so, I think it’s just imposing feelings for other people onto each other, you are obviously to be confused with Angel... and Dru, I don’t know, I guess I’m fairly the same shape as her.”

“No, she can’t even compare... er... I meant, you... you can’t even compare to her.”

“Whatever happened to miss-psycho-ho anyway? D’ya find her after you left last year?”

“No. I went to Brazil and she’d been long gone, word was she’d gone off with that chaos demon for parts unknown, so who needs her? She never appreciated me anyway. What about the poof?”

“Angel? Well, you know he’s in LA, what else is there to say?”

      “When did he leave?”

“Right after graduation. Can you believe the nerve of him? He broke up with me the day before the prom, the fucking prom? I mean, I get that he’s not a big prom goer, but I was excited and I don’t get to do normal things, and that was one normal thing, and he went and ruined it.”

      “I’m sorry love.”

“It’s not like it’s your fault. I just want a nice normal guy, and a normal life, and maybe a dog or cat, is that too much to ask?” He got up and took a half-filled bottle of brandy off the watcher’s cabinet and sat down next to her on the couch. He took a swig and handed her the bottle, she sipped some down.

      “No, it’s not.”

“But I can’t, cause I’m the Slayer... bully for me! I’m so lucky, I get chosen to save the god damn world. How is THAT justice?” She drank some more.

“What about me? Like I chose to be killed and turned. I was just starting a relationship when I died. Then, just when everything was okay, that poof of a sire comes back and takes Dru AGAIN.”

“Again?” They each took another sip.

“Well, he came back twice, he left Dru and I for a while to be with his Sire and when he came back, Dru was all hanging on him, then he leaves and years later, we find him here.”

“Then you tried to kill him.”

“Yeah, to save Dru, then I get all hurt and we come back and he’s here.”

“Why did you guys come back anyway?”

“The last box was being brought here, so we decided to come back and kill you and the poof one more time.”

      “Oh.” She took another sip.

“So how did the poof lose his soul anyway? Magic?”

      “He never told you guys?”

“He said we wouldn’t believe him if he told us.”

“Gimme that.” She took a long drink. “Well, it was my birthday when we got that box and Angel was going to take it out of the country. And well, you got it back and we went to the warehouse to do some recon and we got out through the sewers, you knew that. Well, we went back to his place cause it was raining, and I was wet, and had gotten cut, so he went to get me something to change into and we... you know...”

      “YOU SHAGGED THE BLOODY WANKER?”

“Yeah...” she took another drink. “So I did, I was in love. Anyway, when I woke up, he wasn’t there. Turns out that the curse came with a clause, if his soul felt one moment of pure happiness, with no guilt or remorse, he’d lose said soul.”

      “Oh Slayer... that’s horrible.”

      “Yeah...”

“So that’s why he was so obsessed with you, drove me crazy, he shouldda just killed you.” He went to take another drink, but it was empty.

      “I feel dizzy...”

      “You’re supposed to.”

“Oh, good.” She put her head back on the couch. “Spike?”

“Yeah Slayer?” He followed suit by resting his head.

      “Do you still love her?”

“Of course, I’ll never stop, but it’s over, and I’m going to move on, with or without this bleeding chip in my head.”

“Yeah! Here’s to moving on!” She put out her fist and he hit hers with his own.

      “Slayer?”

      “Yeah?”

      “Do you still love him?”

“Fuck yeah, but he left me, he didn’t want to work through our obstacles or try and find a way to be together, he gave up on us so I could have children and sex.”

      “Was he your first?”

She turned her head toward him. “What?”

“Was he the first guy you’d shagged?”

“Oh, yes... and why is it that every guy I sleep with goes all evil on me.”

“Don’t know, maybe you need a guy who’s already evil, that way you won’t be disappointed.”

She put her hand on his cheek, “Maybe...” she said as he leaned into her and their lips collided in a passionate, slightly drunk, frenzy. His tongue slipped into her mouth and his hand went on her neck and into her hair. She moved closer to him and his other hand slipped around her waist. She pulled away quickly, “Did you hear that?” She asked.

“What?” He said, pulling her closer for another kiss.

Then he pulled away when he heard a key in the door. They pulled away quickly just as Giles opened the door. “Buffy?”

“Hey Giles, we were just talking, right Spike?”

      “Right, talking.”

“Oh, so I take it you’ve decided to let him go.”

“Yeah, we fought a little, or rather, he tried, but he really can’t hurt anyone, so he’s safe to have around I guess.” She tried to stand up and wavered a little.

      “Buffy? Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine...” she started to fall backward and Spike caught her. “Maybe I’m just a eensy weensy bit tired.”

“If you don’t have classes this afternoon Buffy, you could use the extra bedroom to rest.”

“Rest... good idea... WHOA!” She started falling. “I do say, brandy goes right to your head.”

      “Brandy?” Giles asked.

“It’s my fault Watcher, not the Slayer’s... didn’t stop to think she couldn’t handle it.”

“HEY!” She stood back and took a swing at Spike, “I can SO handle it...” and she started falling again and he looked at her. “So maybe brandy isn’t a good idea... I’m gonna sleep a little.” She began closing her eyes.

Spike picked her up, “I’ll carry her. You said the back bedroom did you?”

“Yes, Spike, thanks. Um, Spike?” Giles asked as he was on his way back.

      “Yeah?”

“Given Buffy’s, condition, I’m out of aspirin, I’m going out to get some, I’ll be back soon.” He grabbed his keys and left. Spike got her up to the bed and sat down next to her. Her eyes opened and she reached up behind his neck and pulled his lips to hers, but he resisted.

“Get some sleep Slayer, you need it.” He stood up and she fell asleep.

He looked at her, lying on the bed, so peaceful. He sat on the other side of the bed, so as to wake her and looked at her. His eyes ran down her body a couple few times. He could only imagine the beautiful treasures her body held. He looked at her face, and listened to her heartbeat, slow and steady. He closed his eyes and fixated on that sound, it was a wonderful sound. He felt light headed so he laid down next to her and closed his eyes and fell asleep to the rhythmic seductive sound of her life. This was certainly something new.
