THE DUNGEON : 2 DRAGONS SLAIN

Shit! "Spike?" I don't even have the word out of my mouth, before he grabs me and shoves me behind him. And okay, as much as I want to cling and huddle, that would keep him from fighting. So I'll just stay here, with my back to the wall.

I know he's here, in town. I've just... didn't know when he'd show.

I push her behind me just as he drops down from the roof. "Aw, don't have to hide all your goodies. I'm sure there's plenty to share."

Spike growls, and that's creepy, but slightly comforting too. And hey, he's protecting me, right?

So far, anyway.

I can't see the guy, it's so pitch black, but his voice gives me goose bumps. It's like... something out of a little kid's nightmares about the monster under the bed. Or in the closet. Or--

Or shut up, Cordelia, and stop freaking yourself out worse. "Spike, can we make it inside the club?" I ask. Not that I don't think he can beat this guy... Probably... I just didn't have 'make my vampire lover protect me' on my list of things to do tonight.

"I was on my way there," he says with a smirk.

Asshole.

"What do you want, Mate?" I ask, because she's trembling behind me. I touch her thigh softly, trying to calm her a bit. But he *is* creepy.

"What? You don't have a kiss for me, Spike? That's disappointing."

I grab his hand and by the way they're chatting, then maybe it's not all that bad. They're old friends... or ... something.

And ick, more information sexual orientation of vampires, that's *exactly* what I wanted. I get it, they're demons, they'll fuck anything. I think I already knew that, I didn't need it spelled out to me.

"Well, you didn't call, you didn't write... I've been hurt you know."

It *is* bloody good to see him, although it's been a while.

"So, you gonna share your treat?" He asks, stepping closer so he can look over my shoulder at her.

"Hey!" I yell. "Spike doesn't speak for me and there will be *no* sharing whatsoever." And if Spike wants me to go home with him later, he's going to agree with me now.

"She's feisty. Bet she's wild- you always did go for the gold, didn't you, Spike?"

He smirks a bit and breaks his 'creepy creature of the night' thing. He always was a ponce- always tryin' to be better than everyone else, talk about a complex.

"She's feisty. Bet she's wild- you always did go for the gold, didn't you, Spike?"

"As did you, Penn," I shake my head. "But she's mine," I inform him.

Okay, that wasn't exactly agreeing with me. But from a vampire, I think I'll take anything that keeps me from being offered up to any vampire around. And yes I've decided he *has* to be a vampire or demon of *some* kind, because I can't see a fucking thing except for Spike who's right in front of me.

"Are you two going to fight or can we go inside the club, where I can eat while you two catch up?" I ask. I think I know what the answer will be, since they're not acting much like enemies.

"She has to *eat*?" He asks. "You *feed* her?"

This is just annoying, now. "Of course I have to eat, I am human," I retort. "And he doesn't *feed* me, I take care of myfuckingself! God, what *is* it with you vampires and your old-world caveman-ness?" Okay, so maybe that wasn't a word, but I'm hungry and getting irritated now.

"Well, he *is* the original old-world junkie, Pet," I say, grabbing her hand and pulling her out from behind me. "Cordelia, Penn. Penn, Cordelia. Now let's go eat," I say.

"I couldn't agree more," he glances at her neck and licks his lips. That's it. I growl fiercely at him and slam him into the wall behind us. "You. Don't. Touch. Her." I growl again and punch his stomach before I let him go.

"Alright then, let's go." I take her hand and we close the fifteen-foot gap between us and the club.

Okay, I'm not worried anymore. Because *that* was... yeah, fine, it turned me on. Just a little. And by the way he smirks at me, he knows it too.

"So how do you two know each other?" I have a feeling I'll regret asking, but I am curious.

"Quite intimately, don't we, *William*?" He gasps as he follows us to the club.

I knock on the door three times and the doorman opens the small window to look out at us. "Password?"

"Johnny- it's *me*," I tell him. I was just here two days ago and I *made* him!

"Password."

"Suilerua."

The door opens and we walk in. The place is filled. It's gonna be hard findin' a table. Shit. "C'mon, Luv. We'll get you a few pretzels and then I'll scare us up a table."

"I'm gonna mingle," Penn says and wanders off.

"Like I invited you anyway, Ponce," I mumble and hold her hand as I pull her behind me through the crowds. And I do love this club. Sex just permeates the air and blood... a vamp's dream.

I pull her up to the bar and we sit down. "Want a drink, Luv?"

I don't hear him at first, I'm too busy looking around. There are couples, of all different combinations, dancing ... if you can call it that. Damn, is it hot in here or is it just me?

And "There are other demons here," I tell him, probably completely unnecessarily. *He* brought me here, after all.

"A few family friends," I shrug. "Bother you?"

"No, as long as you stay close," I reply. "And yes I want a beer and *food*. Please tell me they have actual food here?"

"Yeah, of course. What do you want?"

"Well, well- Spike... been a long time since I've seen you," Harry says. "What can I get you?"

"Couple beers. Chicken wings and-" I look at her. "What do you want?"

"Hamburger? Well done. Everything possible on it. And fries. And.. .Um, no. That's all."

Damn, that was close. I don't want to show him on our first da-- night out what a pig I am. Most guys think I'm a freak, most girls too. And maybe I am, in that I don't keep my body by eating salads, although that would be *easier * I guess. But no. I exercise. A lot.

Harry wanders off and I turn to Spike. "Wanna dance until our food gets here?"

So, she likes to eat... I can work with that. I hate stick figure women.

Harry places the beers on the bar, "Slipped a little something extra in yours, Spike," he says and I nod. "So- I see you've taken a mate. Congratulations!"

Ohshit.

There's that word again. But Spike obviously doesn't want to talk to *me* about it, since he's looking anywhere but at me. So... I can push or I can ignore.

I think I'll ignore, just for now. My plans for tonight were to enjoy myself, dancing and just... have fun.

"Go get our food, Harry," I tell the guy. I think he might be a demon of some kind, with some of them it's hard to tell. I turn around and look out at the people - and demons - on the dance floor. Penn is dancing - and making out - with some guy. Okay, that answers my question if I had one about *his* sexual preferences. And it's not that much a turn on.

Really, it's not.

"You never answered my question," I say to Spike, "how you and Penn know each other. Old... friends?"

Oh, good. *There's* something I wanna talk about- but I guess it's better than 'mating'.

"Friends? No, hardly. Much, much worse." I look out and see him making out with Michael. Good, if they're busy fucking, then I don't have to bother with him. "We're brothers."

"Brothers?" Okay, now I'm confused. "Vampires don't have kids or parents or brothers... or did Giles leave something out when he was teaching us all about you?" I'm starting to get the feeling Giles left a LOT out about vampires, but that's probably good. If Angelus was anything like Penn, then Buffy would've freaked if Giles had shared *that* little bit of information.

I don't know why I'm not freaking, other than I guess after you've fucked and moved in with an evil demon, all in the same night, there isn't much left that can bother you.

"Gee, the watcher really didn't teach you kiddies anything, did he? No wonder she could never kill us." I turn toward her and place my hand on her thigh (upper thigh to be exact). "We're *like* brothers as in Angelus made us both. We're the same generation in the clan and we're from the same blood- Angelus'."

I glance over at Penn again and back at her. "That turn you on, Pet? What you see out there? No boundaries... no limitations... nothin' but kissing and heavy petting and shagging and drinking?" It *is* pretty wild in this club- and is it hot in here?

"No, I'm not into..." Shit, those two are-- What was the question again? I look over at him, and he's smiling at me. And damn, he can see right through me, can't he?

But he's changed the subject. "So were you two... I mean did you... No, I take it back. I don't want to know." Even though I've already got the mental image going of Penn and *Spike* and--

"Why did you come to L.A.?" I ask. And that's me changing the subject, but I'm *completely* allowed to do that anytime I want. Woman's prerogative.

I just smile at her. "For you, Luv," I answer. I figure if she's gonna do the 'woman' thing, I'll give her the 'man' answer.

And that's when Harry decides it's time to bring the burger out.

Food! I turn back to the bar, grateful to have something to look at other than Penn or Spike or-- Shit, I'm all flushed but that's only because it's so fucking *hot* in this place. "Bring me a bottled water," I tell Harry. "Or hell, if you don't have anything like that, just regular water with a lot of ice?" He nods and walks off again.

Spike's got his hand up *under* my skirt now, and I clamp my legs together and glare at him. "I'm hungry." Something he needs to learn about me, and fast: don't mess with me when I'm eating. You *will* bring out The Bitch that way.

"So am I," I whisper while licking her neck.

"Spike... " I didn't mean that to sound so moan-y. "Stop." I glare at him again. "Not until I'm done eating."

"Fine, fine, fine," I say. "I'll be back," I say before standing up.

"Hey!" I grab his hand. "Brothers or not, he creeps me out," I add, nodding back at where Penn is still dancing. "And even if *he* didn't... I've gotten 'I want to bite you' looks from at least three or four other vamps in this place."

And I know, I know, clingy is *so* not me, but I've never willingly put myself - well, not recently anyway - in a position where I was demon bait. And I'm remembering one of the main reasons why I left Sunnydale. Other than being miserably poor.

"Luv, you've gotten those looks from *every* vamp in the place," I say. "You do realize that there are only about twenty humans here willingly, don't you?"

Oh. "Um... no, I wasn't exactly paying *that* close of attention. But that new bit of information is supposed to convince me it's okay if you go elsewhere?" I point out.

"Don't worry my dear." And SHIT, when did he show up? "I'll protect you while William is feeding," Penn says as he trails a finger down my arm.

I bat his hand away and say, "No thank you, go away please."

I growl softly. He may be older, but *I'm* stronger *and* a better fighter. He always hated me for that... Angelus left him after ten years- he stayed with me for twenty... HA!

Plus, he's more the pansy-assed of all of us. If I thought Darla didn't like *me*- I actually think she liked him even less.

"You'll be fine, Luv. I gotta go take care of something."

Oh and I'm supposed to just believe him? But I'm not going to beg him to protect me, either. I do have a *little* bit of pride left. I turn away, "Whatever." At least I'll have a really good last meal.

I *know* no one will touch her because she's *mine*. She's marked. Plus- I'm a respected vampire here in L.A. I made that quite clear the first week I was here by killing a house full of runaway teens and making them my bitches for a week before setting them all on fire.

Plus, this is a clan owned club- so everyone respects other clan member's claims. And if they don't...

"I'll be quick about it," I say and kiss her on the cheek quick. "Finish eating and then we'll dance."

I nod, trying to remember I'm irritated at him, while not being too obvious about it. Or something like that.

I try to concentrate on my hamburger, but Penn's staring at me. "What the fuck do you want?" I finally turn and ask him.

Which is a really dumb question, now that I think about it. He grins. "Unfortunately, something I can't have," he says. "William's quite possessive of his... things."

He holds up his hand when I open my mouth to start screaming. "Now, now. I didn't mean it disrespectfully, you must be quite impressive, if he's decided to claim you."

"Claim me?" I ask. "How--" He brushes his fingers over the bite on my throat and oh, *now* I get it. This is some weird old-world thing. Spike said he was big on that stuff. So yeah. That's got to be it. It doesn't mean what I think it means. It's just him being all Dracula-y. "Oh, that? He wanted to bite me, he did. Vampires have been doing that for thousands of years, I'm sure," I shrug.

He sighs. "He never did think these things through, and I see that hasn't changed. You don't have a clue what I'm talking about, do you?" He shakes his head. "My dear Cordelia, hasn't it occurred to you that there must be a reason William isn't worried about leaving you alone in a room just *full* of hungry demons?"

I open the door to the back, where they keep the 'unwilling' ones.

"Spike... it's been a long time," Anne says as she lets one fall to the floor.

"Yes- I suppose. Ten years or less. How've you been, Pet? And who's good?"

"Who isn't?" She laughs. "Great pick tonight- although not as nice as the tasties in the other room... like the bitch you brought to share... I'd love to have some."

I growl and walk over to a blonde one, hanging from the ceiling. "She's not for sale and *not* for sharing."

"Pity... although I bet it'd impress everyone more if she got on her knees and sucked you off."

I glare at her, "You just wanna see my cock." I grab the girl and sink into her neck. I don't typically like seconds... but it's either this or take Cordelia and I know if she has to watch, that she'll be gone sooner than I can charm my way into her panties.

"He's someone other demons don't mess with, I've always known that," I say and turn back to my food. "That's why I'm safe.

"Now if you're done annoying me why don't you--" Hell no, that is *not* his hand up my skirt. I grab his wrist and pull it away. "Do that again and I'll show you and everyone else why they should be afraid of *me*, too."

He smiles and pulls my hand up to kiss the inside of my wrist, gently. Shit, what is it with me all the sudden? Vampire equals horny now? "You and I *could* have a little fun, if I got your permission. I'm quite sure Spike would agree," he says with a smile.

"NO!" I yell, yanking my hand away. "Go fuck with someone else, Penn. I'm a one-vampire woman." I didn't just say that, did I? I think I'm going to switch to water for the rest of the night.

"Ah, but is Spike a one-woman vampire?" I hear him ask.

"I *am* back and I didn't appreciate your hands on mine," I say before sliding in between him and her and taking my place on the stool.

"Yes, well, while you were busy with Anne, I had to occupy myself *somehow*. How *is* Anne by the way, William? She's been asking about you quite frequently, you know."

"Go to Hell one day, Penn. Go and stay there," I tell him. I'm really not in the mood for his shit. "Wanna get outta here?" I ask her.

Anne? Here I was thinking about how to apologize to him for letting Penn affect me a little... and then suddenly, there's an Anne. Well, I'm not apologizing. I just wish he hadn't heard me say that about being a 'one-vampire woman'. I didn't really mean it, though. I was just trying to get Penn away from me.

At least I finished my meal, in spite of Penn's persistent attempts to seduce me. "No, I want to dance," I say to Spike.

I grab her hand and yank her out to the center of the room, away from him. Then, I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her tight little body to mine. "Just ignore him, he's the shame of the family. Had I known he'd be here, we wouldn't be."

I nod and slip my hands up around his neck. And this is better, our bodies pressed together, as we lose ourselves in the music. It's much more comfortable, since all we are is sex and lust. I shouldn't have tried to talk to him, get to know him, that just leads to awkwardness.

Jealousy.

NO.

I don't care who 'Anne' is, just like I don't want to know how many other women he's fucked in his hundred or so years.

"Mmm... you feel so good, Luv. Are you having a good time yet?" I ask before slipping my hand down inside her skirt to cup her ass and press her against my cock.

Yeah, sure. Great time.

Shit.

"Spike..." I pull away and he frowns at me. "I ..." What? What could I say that would sound believable?

I look over at Penn and who would've thought I'd be glad to see *him* still gawking at me? "I don't feel like giving him a show. Could we go home? We can dance there," I suggest with a smile, pressing against him and grinding against his thigh when it slips between my legs.

I smile and nibble on her ear before saying, "As much as I'd love to take you right here, and would if he wasn't here, you've got a good point. Let's get going. We'll come back once he's outta town."

I nod and turn in his arms, gasping when he pulls me back against him. God, how can I still want him, even though I know he was just with another woman?

I know the answer to that, but I'm ignoring it.

"Take me home, Spike," I moan as he kisses my throat. And I just realized, I used the word home when talking about his hotel suite. How sick is that?

"Anything for you, Cor," I say before taking her hand and leading her out. Penn sees us leave, but he's too busy gettin' a blow to bother me or even really care.
