Arriving in Scotland
We arrived in Edinburgh and immediately toured Holyrood Palace, Queen Elizabeth's official residence in Scotland.  It was cold and rainy when we arrived, as well as frequently thereafter, which the students mostly loved.  Here is seen the exterior of the palace.
The ruins of the church attached to Holyrood Palace, above, and a detail of its high vault, left.  The path outside leads through the Queen's gardens at the palace.  After the tour, we went to the Pollock Hall dormitories of the University of Edinburgh, which would be our home for the remainder of the two weeks.
Aimee relaxes in one of our "luxurious" rooms at Pollock Hall.  OK, they weren't elaborate, but they were comfortable, and at any rate we didn't spend much time in them with our busy schedule.  Besides, they left new packets of hot chocolate in our room every night--yumm!
Tiffany and Jenni go through the cafeteria line, followed by Carolyn.  All you could eat at every meal--and the food was pretty good, too!
Several of our cast members fraternize with some of the other American theatre students attending the festival.  The other fourteen schools in attendance were from all over the country, from Arizona to Vermont.
