Tip of the month
August
This month's highlight is clearly Foxy Ramone at the
Portland Arms on the 13th. Guitarist/vocalist Rosey Repeat promises to
stun the assembled masses with his cover of Dancing Queen. Update:
Dancing Queen was an unparalleled moment of pure ecstacy on the Cambridge
music scene.
September
Well, Andy White is coming
to Colchester on Wednesday 2nd. (Andy White trivia: Andy White studied
Eng' Lit' at Cambridge University.)
November
There's a crazy/cute Finnish band playing the Portland Arms on the 14th.
Update: the Finnish band turned out to be 22 Piske Pirko (22 ladybirds)
and very good they were too.
December
The highlight of this month is my Mum's birthday. We went to the flying
pig where they were playing tacky funk. The Tai restaurant across the
road was nice, although the theme from "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves"
played on saxaphone did not add to the ambience.
Janurary - March
Nothing much happened between January and March. I went to Southampton
with Rebecca and hung out in a dockside tavern looking for sailors. We
also did "Meet East", which subsequently vanished like all good magical
seaside cafes. We would have gone in the casino but didn't dare.
April
April is the cruelest month. The "Minor Topics" paper and "General Paper"
(they being physics exams) are competing for highlight status.
