I grew up in Northrepps, my grandparents, Maggie & William Money worked for Mr & Mrs Gurney at Northrepps Hall, and I have many fond memories of being around the stables & the big house, I am currently researching my family tree and am very interested in
he Money & Wright families of the area. There are quite a few Cromer people around Tamworth, the Trollors, Taylors & Burrells to name some. Would love to hear from anybody who also grew up in the area.

You may find this unusual, but when I began to
make plans to visit England with my eldest son, Chris, I was told that a timeshare condo in "Cromer" was available. Never heard of Cromer - didn't even know where it was located. When we arrived, we both felt like we'd arrived "home".
It felt so welcoming and familiar. Our genealogy includes ancestors with the surnames of Jarvis and Allen. We both want to return - we "need" to return. Thank you for all your info!

After 18 years I recently visited cromer and west runton again where I used to live.
In 1982-83 my parents where the owner of 'the village Inn' in west runton.
Because we where the only belgians the people there had ever seen we where quite spoken of.
Because of some problems my parents desided to come back to belgium and I had to leeve all my friends behind without even saying goodbye.
This is why I write you this mail,I was hoping to find someone who could help me find people that used to know me or my parents maybe even find some long lost friends who went to school with me.
If ther is anyone who could help me please contact me.This is my adress:

Excellent website! Thank you for all the hard work you have done to create and maintain it.
I believe I am related to all of the DAVIES residents of Cromer. My father, David Davies, was born there in 1927. His father was Robert Davies (lifeboat engineer). My mother, Jean TITE, grew up there as girl, well.
I had a brief (1 1/2 days) visit there in 1994 but hadn't done much family research at that time.
Kitty LEE (daughter of Henry Davies) was working on a family tree as of a couple of years ago, but I've lost contact with her.
Has anyone done any genealogical research on the Davies of Cromer??

If anybody has any information on the Avery family I would be most thankful if it was forwarded onto me.
Family lived in Cromer - late 1800's - l930
I believe their residence was Kensington Lodge, 5 Cabbell Road, Cromer.
My grandparents were - George Alexander Avery & May Elizabeth Avery (Nee Allen).
My father, Thomas George Avery, was born on 16 August 1902 - family residence at that stage was Queen Street, Wymondham ?
My father had the following brothers and sisters -
Hugh, Sybil, Millie, Percy, Fred, Alan, Basil, Mollie, Claude, Hubert and Jack (who was christened George William Allen and was actually the son of Mable Allen who was the sister of May.)

My father leftthe family home in Cromer at the age of 14 and after spending 4 years serving in a cavalry regiment migrated to Australia. He arrived in Australia in 1926 and never saw his parents again. In 1963 he was reunited with his brothers and sister
uring a UK holiday. He also enjoyed a return visit to his home town of Cromer.
In 1996 I visited Cromer with my son and daughter and we enjoyed exploring this beautiful seaside town. I was able to find my father's family home, Kensington Lodge located in Cabell Street. In the 1920's the residence was a guesthouse run by my grandmoth
r while my grandfather worked as a railway superintendent at Cromer. Unfortunately Kensington Lodge is a private residence today and we were unable to stay there. I hope to visit Cromer again in the near future to research my ancestry.

Andrew Noble BLACK
Born :30 December 1880 in Fraserburgh, Aberdeen Scotland
We have a death date of 29th November 1917 but no location.
He married Eliza HEWITT
Marriage: 2nd June, 1908 in Register Office, Gr Yarmouth.
Children:
1.Thomas BLACK Born out of wedlock we think.
2.William Budge Buchanan BLACK
Born 8th November,1908 in 85 Middlegate St, Great Yarmouth
Died November 1995
Married Dorethy GOWEN
No children
3. Olga Violet BLACK
Born 16 May, 1913 in Great Yarmouth
Died: 23 July 1979 in Norfolk, Norwich
Married Albert James WRIGHT
Marr: 3 Aug 1940 in Great Yarmouth
Children
Jane Rhonda WRIGHT
I am in contact with Jane but she has not been able to find out much about the family.
Eliza Ann HEWIT apparently had several children born out of wedlock. We know of two
Edith HEWIT
Augusta May HEWITT.
Olga and William would not talk about the other siblings.
We wrote to the Office for National Statistics to get a death certificate for Andrew and they searched the records for England and Wales from 1915-1919 inclusive with no result. His occupation on Olgas Birth Certificate was Cooper (Journeyman). We think
he was a soldier in the war. If he was killed overseas where would his death be recorded?
Edith HEWITT later remarried. All we know is that his surname was WESTGATE.
Any advice you could give us on tracing this family would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
Glenys
