Leo enters the room and Willoughby nods toward Lisa. "Take her over to the guesthouse." He turns back to Lisa, "The next time I see you my dear, it will be to present your dead husband to you, and then.." He chuckles, "to finish the hunt."
Lisa fights off Leo's hands as he grabs her arm, she runs to Willoughby's desk pleading: "Please let me see my daughter!"
"Lisa, Lisa.." He smiles reassuringly, "That's where he's taking you. You'll see Christina. She's waiting for you. I'm not really so heartless, as to not let you see her one last time. Now go along quietly with Leo."
Suspiciously, Lisa turns to Leo, he takes her arm again and she shrugs it off, instead gesturing toward the door. Leo points the gun at her, gesturing for her to go first. They leave the house.
Willoughby stands and pours himself another Brandy. "Lisa, you should realize that I don't make deals. But I'll do what I have to do to shut you up." He laughs again, "Which will make you hate me even more, and make the hunt so much more challenging."
Leo and Lisa are walking along a narrow path leading away from the house. After several minutes, Lisa stops and turns to Leo, "How much further? Where are we going?"
Leo: "Not much further, you'll see when we get there. Now move!" He shoves her forward
She stumbles, but stops again, turning around she quickly glances to the gun in his hand, then melodramatically lays her hand on her forehead, closing her eyes. "It's not that, it's… I don't feel well. I think.." Collapsing into Leo's arms.
Looking around helplessly, he pats her face several times: "Wake up, hey.. Come on.." Getting no response, he picks her up and throws her over his shoulder, continuing down the path.
FADE OUT
Cruz, Quinn and Pearl fight the storm to navigate their small skiff over the angry waves, the storm has passed, but the ocean remains rough. Cruz is scanning the shoreline through binoculars while Quinn and Pearl row.
Cruz: "Ok! Those men went around that reef!" Pointing to the right. "Hurry, we have to land and ditch this boat!"
FADE OUT
They land on the beach, having pulled the craft from the water. Cruz reaches to rip the bandage from his shoulder and turns to Pearl: "How much time do we have?"
Pearl, looks down at his watch; "We have about 25 minutes."
Cruz, turning to Quinn: "OK man, you lay low here on the beach, keep an eye on those men, Pearl and I are gonna go up to the house."
FADE OUT
Cruz and Pearl reach the house; crouched underneath the open window they can hear Willoughby clearly. "Why in the hell have you not found his body yet?"
The man on the radio responds; "We haven't found a trace of him. Do you want us to stop?"
"No!" Willoughby screams, "I'll be right down there!" He slams the radio down onto the desk and picks up the remote. He punches in several buttons, and speaks again to himself. "If this is a trick, I'll have my ace in the hole."
He picks up the radio again. "Leo, have you deposited our guest in her room?"
Leo stops to place Lisa on the ground, lays his gun down and fumbles for his radio: "We're almost there sir!"
Willoughby's voice crackles over the speaker; "I want you to keep guard, but I'd advise you to move a safe distance away."
Leo: "Understood sir." He places the radio back onto his belt and reaches back for his gun as Lisa slams a rock onto the side of his head. He crumples to the ground.
Lisa grimaces as he falls: "Ow, sorry Leo!" She picks up his gun, and starts to run down the path; "I'm coming Hope!"
FADE OUT
Cruz turns to Pearl after Willoughby passes by them, "That settles it, he has to find my body, otherwise he's gonna blow-up the place." He glances down at his watch, "He didn't mention Christina, I believe she's safe."
Pearl: "I'm sure she's safe, but Cruzie, let's just grab him and get him to take us to Eden!"
Cruz: "It would be a cold day in hell before he'd tell us anything, if it would mean he lost, he has to have the advantage."
Pearl: "Well, let's just look for Eden, she has to be around here!"
Cruz: "We don't have that kind of time, and we can't take that chance. The only thing that's gonna save Eden is if he finds my body to show her. You can look around, but don't do anything dangerous; I'm going down to the beach. The minute you know Eden's safe, make sure she knows I'm not dead! You gotta be there to wake me up, I can't put her through that!"
"I'll be here for ya buddy, the minute I know everything's cool, then we'll get Willoughby." Pearl slaps Cruz on the back reassuringly as he passes him to leave. Whispering, "Good luck!"
FADE OUT
Cruz reaches an area of the beach yards from where the men were initially searching. He pulls a vial from his pocket, positions himself at the edge of the water, downs the content of the vial and tosses it into the ocean. "Hang on Eden! When I wake up, I wanta see your beautiful face baby."
FADE OUT
Having encountered several forks in the path and chosing the wrong route, Lisa finds herself on the beach. Bending over to catch her breath, she notices something in her peripheral vision. Standing up, she turns to look, incredulously, she stares in the direction of Cruz's body.
Eden: Oh, my God!
Lisa: Now, just calm down.
Lisa hesitantly steps forward: "Cruz?"
Lisa: He's faking it, trying to trick that maniac.
Eden (screaming): No!
Lisa starts to run toward the body. Speaking in a calm voice, attempting to reassure Eden: He's hurt; we'll get him help.
Eden: Shut up! Shut Up!
It's Eden who reaches Cruz's body, her heart pounds as she falls to her knees in the surf. "C-Cruz?" A trembling hand reaches out to touch his face. "Cruz? Honey, wake up!" She pulls back, as if touching fire. Her hands covering her mouth, the tears start to flow. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!"
She struggles to lift him, cradleing his upper body sobbing. Holding him tightly in her arms, she sits for several minutes crying, repeating "I love you. I love you."
Lisa: We have to get out of here, they're looking for you!
Eden ignores her, she begins to gently caress Cruz's face.
Lisa: What about your children?
Eden: I'm not leaving!
Lisa: You're a fool! You can't save him! They're out looking for him right now! Do you think he'd want you to sit out here waiting to die?"
Eden: SHUT UP!
She pulls Cruz closer, burying her face in his hair. "You said you'd never leave me!"
Lisa: What would Cruz want you to do?
Eden sits frozen as Lisa's words echo through her head. Looking out to the ocean, then back again to Cruz's face, she runs her fingers through his hair and eases herself from under him, gently sliding his body to the sand. Emotionless, she rises to her knees. Looking out to the ocean, then back down the beach. She bends down once more to kiss Cruz gently on the lips, removes her ring and places it in his jeans pocket. Taking the wedding ring from his finger, she clutches it to her chest: "Please forgive me."
Hesitantly, she stands and starts to walk away. Her anguish has manifested itself into an agonizing pain in the pit of her stomach. She holds her abdomen and struggles to walk away, knowing what she has to do. Walking along the edge of the waves, she is unable to look back, but finds the physical pain lessening with each step.
