Pooh's Perspective...(from the pen of pooh)

I won’t bore you all with my childhood though I do, as you all know have an awesome mom and of course two beautiful sisters whom I love dearly, but let's get right to the party years…

My Junior year of High School I took a summer job at Great Adventure (a very cool time in the Poohsters life), making a whopping $2.90 per hour sweeping the grounds in “Area B”, and having a paycheck of my very own.  I eventually moved up to “Usherette” at the “Americana Music Hall”, where I met some of the best friends I still have to this day.  Mike Carey, Sean Sullivan, Karen Eisley, Mike Province, and Jim Macintosh.  The latter I do not see much of anymore, but he is still in my heart everyday.

Many great nights and great memories were to be had with these new friends.  One of our many stomps, “Heineken Night” at the “Hole in the Wall”.  $1.00 Heineys every Tuesday night and great tunes by DJ Rocco (soon to be pegged as “Gus” by the Poohster).  Gus and I became great friends and to this day some twenty years later, Gus provides a fine ride up to Vermont for the annual ski trash weekend, complete with 80’s tunes and of course beer.

In the late 80’s when my career choices were 1.  Remain an usherette at Great Adventure for life, 2. Work at the Lakewood Industrial Park, or 3.  Become a bar gnat at the Laketon Inn, I decided to head for the bright lights of Atlantic City.

Sister Justiney McSweeney kindly lent me a couch at her pad in Brigantine while I scoped out job prospects.  Harrah’s Marina gave me my first break.  After my 9-month stint there it was off to Trump Plaza (where I met my wonderful husband).  After 8 years and 16 bosses, I was off to the Atlantic City CVA and now the Sands Casino and Hotel, where I tell a bunch of people what to do and no one listens or gives a crap.  I’ve really come a long way baby!

The past 40 years have been filled with great memories with family and friends.  Here are some of my favorites.
