The Car
1985 Honda Ballade 'Sports' 1.6 Si
(
A Japanese domestic market CRX-Si)
This is not the typical car of choice for this event.
However, as a full time Honda mechanic for  26 years,
and the owner of an independent Honda & Acura's only shop
for the last 17 of those years.
I'm dancin' with the one that brung me!
I read a magazine article about this race in 1997 and thought it
would be the perfect place to see what this car could actually do!
After all, short bursts of speed are fun,
and blowing the doors off a Mustang is always a blast.
But where can you put your foot down, and let it all hang out for 90 miles,
without the fear of matching bracelets and a big fine?
