Keiko Yukimura is Yusuke's closest friend. She is a good student and very popluar. Which begs the question why she likes Yusuke^_^. Keiko is a small girl but she packs a serious punch.

Genkai is the master of Reidoha-ryu. She is one of the top 5 fighters in the spirit and human worlds. Genkai holds a tournament to decide her successor. Which is Yusuke. She helps Yusuke to train until he is stronger that her.

This is Kurama aka Youko and Shuichi Minamano. Kurama is a spirit fox who specializes in stealing and unlocking secrets. He is forced to hide in the human world by a power demon.

Botan is a guide to the spirit world. After Yusuke is brought back and made spirit detective , Botan is assigned to be his assistant. She is sort of like the grim reaper but in a pink robe.

Hiei is a powerful and masterful swordsman. He has a Jagan eye(a 3rd eye). Though he is evil to a point, he is honorable and a man of his word. So to speak that is b/c he is in fact a demon.

Next to Yusuke, Kuwabara is the strongest thug at their school. He has spirit awareness and a spirit sword. He loves kittens and Yukina.

Koenma is the ruler of spirit world. He gets to decide if a person goes to heaven or hell. He may look like a toddler but he is over 700 years old.

Yukina is an ice apparition. Yukina's tears turn into pearls. She has healing powers and she is Hiei's half-sister. Kuwabara falls in love with her.

Yusuke Urameshi is a student at Sarayashiki Junior High. Yusuke is rude, ill-tempered, quick to judge, and flat out thug. Even though he acts like a tough guy, he really cares about those around him. Even thought he may not always show it. He is killed while saving a boy and Koenma returns him to the world of the living. He uses his spirit gun as his most favored weapon of choice.
