Percy Bysshe Shelly



Percy Bysshe Shelly was the hier of a rich estate accuired by his grandfather. He was born at Field Place, nr Horsham in Sussex, to an aristocratic family. His father, Timothy Shelly was a Sussex squire and a member of Parliament. Shelly attended Syon House Academy and Eton and in 1810 he entered the Oxford University College.
Percy Shelly's poetry is described by some as Gothic, and/or Dark, as in a lot of it he remembers the Dark Romances of his childhood.  He also writes a lot about Death.
