| Ethics, Morals, Code of Conduct, and other such stuff |
| I live by my own morals and ethics. It's all pretty much common sense stuff. But when it gets right down to it, the codes by which we live are relative. Don't steal, unless you're starving. Don't cause harm, unless you're protecting yourself or your family. Don't kill, unless they're trying to kill you. I'm sure there are quite a few people who will disagree with my way of thinking. That's life. The great thing about being human is that we're all unique in many ways. I don't think like every other two-legged, not-so-hairy mammal on this planet. Thank Goddess for that. Oh yea, speaking of Goddess. I wrote years ago that I never have and never will worship a deity. I was wrong. I have heard the call of the Dark Goddess Hecate and have dedicated myself to Her. Yes, I worship Hecate. Her torch is the guiding light in my life. Everyday She teaches me something new along this path and I am deeply appreciative of my relationship with Her. I give offerings of thanks, offerings of blessing, offerings petitioning for whatever I need. I guess you could say I believe that all entities are equal, be they deity, deva, human, animal, insect, plant or nonphysical being. I guess you could call me an animist, for the most part. I believe in protecting myself and my family. I believe a Witch who cannot curse cannot heal. I'm not saying you must curse to heal, simply that you must have the *ability* to do so. I am by no means a fluffy bunny, but I'm also not one to roast a person without good reason (even if that good reason happens to be my period every now and then. Hey, I'm a woman, I can use that excuse. Althought I very rarely do). More to come later :) Blessings, Crystal September 05, 2005 |
