I am a Witch. I am a dedicated priestess to the Dark Goddess Hekate. I am *not* a Wiccan, I don't follow all the rules, I have my own set of ethics and moral codes. I have no problems with Wiccans, I'm just not one. I was raised Christian, and have nothing against those who follow Christ. However, I do not apreciate being preached to, it's disrespectful. I've read the Bible, I know what it says.
Mike and I practice Attachment Parenting and Gentle Discipline with Kairi. We're adamant lactivists (we advocate breastfeeding whenever possible) and I do everything I can to educate women (and men) I know about breastfeeding. We believe in Child Led Weaning, meaning Kairi will be done nursing when she is ready...which could be anytime between ages 2-7, though usually around 3 or 4. We do not believe in disrespecting or abusing children, so we never spank or hit in any way. We cosleep, which is great for nightime nursing, I don't even have to wake up!
I love tea and coffee. Celestial Seasonings and Republic of Tea are amazing. My favorite tea is Ginseng Peppermint from RoT.Right now, since I'm pregnant, my tea of choice, however is a blend of Red Raspberry leaf, nettles, alfalfa and spearmint. When it comes to coffee, I am a loyal Starbucks customer. My favorite drink is a white chocolate mocha made with organic milk. OK, I admit, I'm addicted.
When I have free time (yea right!) I love to read, write and knit. I read some fiction ( I love Harry Potter!) and of course, Mothering magazine. I write poetry, articles and do a lot of journaling. I just finished my first wool soaker and am now knitting a pair of longies for the new baby!
Career-wise I'm a WAHM. I am starting a career as a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. It's slow going right now since I don't have a lot of energy to spare, but that's ok, I'm sticking with it and will one day earn a Pontiac Vibe!
