Here are 10 things you can do during National Autism Awareness Month

1)Make a public speech to your church congregation, a local school, the public library, etc. about Autism. (It would be great to do in the classroom of a sibling of a child with Autism.)

2)Ask your local viceo display to support Autism Awareness Month by making a display of videos which depict (in some way,shape, or form) Autism. Here is a list of movies that they could use:

4)purchase a copy of "Speaking With the Angels" a collection of short stories edited by Nick Hornby (author of High Fidelity, and father to a child with Autism)proceeds of which are going to support education
of children with Autism

5)Dial 10-10-220 when calling long distance, some of the proceeds will go towards causes for Autism.

7)Write to your favorite magazine, newscast, and talk show and let them know that Autism is an interest to you, and somethihng that you would like to see addressed by them.

8) Support Cycle USA  CycleUSA is the brainchild of John Keating, a police officer from Courtice, Canada. He noticed that there were no telethons or national efforts to raise money for research in Canada or the United States. He knew that he couldn't cure autism, but he believed he could do something to raise funds for autism research. Inspired by the efforts of Terry Fox, John decided he would ride a bicycle across the United States. In the process, he believed he could get the attention of a nation and raise money to go towards autism research.

9) Start a local support groups for families touched by Autism

10) make and wear tee shirts that read "I love (heart) someone with Autism, and carry card that explain what Autism is to hand out to those who have questions.
