| Week 50 (12/29/02): Heard back from Gene's dr. I will meet him next Tuesday. Sunday: Gene was out of town so we didn't go to church. Thursday: Gene went back to school and did well; no behavior problems, just a little resistant to some work. Friday: Gene got all stars and a happy face. |
| Week 51 (1/5/03): Sunday: Gene said Gene did well at church; I didn't go - I was sick. As soon as Gene got home, he ran up to me and said, "MOM! How are you feeling?!" Monday: Gene had another good day at school. Tuesday: Gene's teacher said that he is continuing to do well. I met Gene's doctor & picked up his tests results (see Tests page). There really are a lot of signs of endocrine disfunction, so we are going to try both an adrenal test and thyroid test. The Dr. also suggested ionic minerals for the deficiencies; I figured since we are starting from scratch, this would be fine to give a whirl. Also indications of continued gut issues, so we will be doing another stool test. Wednesday: Thursday: Friday: Gene's minerals are ready, so I picked them up. I tried giving them to Gene. Unfortunately, they are liquid, and Gene doesn't do well with liquids, so after a lot of resistance, spilling more than he was taking...he threw up everything. |
| Week 52 (1/12/03): This week Gene's teacher said that he was tired a lot. I am starting to get Gene back on the Vit C, Acidophilus, B6 and trying to get as much of the new minerals in him as I can. Started w/ CLO & FSO as well. Sunday: Gene did fine at church; he wasn't feeling well, so we sat outside (near the trashcan :-) - just in case!) |
| Week 53 (1/19/03): Still continuing to add the new test results into Tests page. Gene is finally getting used to using the (liquid) minerals (phew!) Each day at school has been getting better (ie he isn't as sleepy) Mailed in the Adrenal test. Sunday: Gene was out of town so we didn't go to church. Today was the SD Marathon, so I helped out in the A.M. Monday: Gene was off from school today for MLK day. We were making cookies and when he turned around, he accidentally scratched my face. I grabbed my face and said, "Ow!" He immediately looked at me and asked, "Are you all right, Mom?!" Wednesday: I mailed off the adenal test. Thursday: When getting off the bus, Gene yelled back a goodbye to Karen (a girl he likes at school)! Friday: As Gene was walking down the aisle of the bus to leave, he nicely turned and said goodbye to Karen again. Gene's teacher said that he had the most energy that he has had in a long time. I think getting him back on supps is helping. Saturday: Gene started back in the swimming; he was looking good. Today we had a lot of power outages due to the electrician's work and it didn't seem to bother him too much not having access to the music, TV, computer nor oven(!) |
| Week 54 (1/26/03): I've added zinc into the mix too now. Sunday: Gene was fine at church. Monday: Gene was off from school today for MLK day. We were making cookies and when he turned around, he accidentally scratched my face. I grabbed my face and said, "Ow!" He immediately looked at me and asked, "Are you all right, Mom?!" Tuesday: Gene was sad getting on the bus because he forgot the toy he wanted to bring, so he had a rough AM but a happy face for the PM. I told him that if he did all his HW right away, we would bake cookies .. he was very focused and did it very fast(!) Wednesday: Gene got 2 stickers for his ride home. One of the kids had a very hard time, but Gene handled it very well! He also had lots of stars, so as soon as he completed his HW, we baked some cookies. Thursday: Gene seemed to do fine at BGC. He received afull day of stars at school. Friday: Saturday: Gene went swimming and had 2 new teachers, but did very well with them. He participated in a school project for the sister of one of his STAR friends. He was playing CandyLand very nicely with Christopher (and Rebecca too for a while), so nice to see!. |
