| Week 64 (4/6/03): Gene had one short instance of having a bad time this week; for the most part, though, he was doing well. Thursday: I bought a bag of circus animals, thinking I might give Gene a trial on the GF diet using enzymes with a cookie since he has been having good days, it would be a good reward. Saturday: No swimming |
| Week 62 (3/23/03): Gene is off-track Sunday: Gene's doctor called re: adrenal test results and info on what supps might be good. Test showed that the adrenals are depressed in the AM and inflated at night..this is exactly the opposite of what I would have expected.... Saturday: Gene swam well. This is his last day. I met with Gene's DAN doctor to pick up some adrenal support supps. |

| Week 63 (3/30/03): Gene is back on track this week. Started back doing well. Went to Dana's conference. Am considering letting Gene try a small trial of circus animal cookie as a treat along with additional enzymes to see if this can work for him. |
| Week 65 (4/13/03): I don't really recall exactly when I gave Gene his first circus animal (with enzymes), but it would have been this week or the weekend prior. I believe I did on Wed & Fri (Wed being a good day, I think, and Fri being bad -- but I didn't realize that until too late) Monday: Gene had a great morning - they even commented that he was "awesome" in Math! Then in the afternoon, he started hitting... Tuesday: This time he had a bad morning and then a very good afternoon....(?) Friday: I spoke to one of Gene's teachers - she had called several times. She was worried about Gene going on the bus as he has had some bad days. She had a talk with him about trying to hit and she thought it had an impact on him. He came home on the bus with no problem -- he has been doing great on the bus... Saturday: No swimming. This was the Easter Seals Easter Party. Gene did pretty well. He collected lots of eggs, sat nicely during lunch and only got up a few times to check out the bathrooms. |
| Week 66 (4/20/03): I am trying to review Gene's good days / bad days with his intake. It really seems like he has a good day, I reward him with the cookie and then he has a bad day the next day. Then he doesn't get a reward (for the bad day) and then the next day is good. Since he isn't usually rewarded over the weekend, Monday is usually good. I am going to go back to 100% GFCF to see if the few cookies he had might have anything to do with it. Sunday: We went to the old church for Easter. Gene did reasonably well - the mass was very long for Easter, so we left a bit early. Monday: After spending the weekend talking to Gene about being good at school, he had a very good day. I gave him a circus animal with enzymes. Tuesday: Gene had a bad day. Wednesday: Gene had a good morning all the way up until the very end and then tried to hit and throw. Thursday: Today Gene had a good day all(!) Yea. He had 2(!) cookies (cookie parade) for a reward - I gave him 2 enzymes pills as soon as I realized it. Friday: Gene had a hard day most of the day. Spoke to his teacher - she said it was different; that he was using a lot of verbal stims and didn't seem to calm down like normal. She also noted that the girl he likes might be provoking some of his behaviors too, so she is going to watch that. I am wondering if the treats, even with the enzymes, could be the problem as it seems like after having a good day (and getting the treat), he then has a bad day. Figured that we will stop this all together and use a different reward. Saturday: Gene started his swimming again. He seemed to do fine; lots of splashing :-) |
