According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) approximately 1 in 150 school age children have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Many parents of autistic children have stated that their child was developing normally until they received a vaccination which devastated both their child's and their families lives. An article by Dr. Paul Offit, et al, "Addressing Parent's concerns...Do Multiple Vaccines Overwhelm or Weaken the Infant's Immune system?"...."Pediatrics", Vol. 109 No. 1, Jan. 2002, is summarized by Sherri Tenpenny, DO (http://www.mercola.com/2002/mar/27/vaccine_infants.htm) as follows: "One hundred years ago ,children received 1 vaccine (the smallpox vaccine). Forty years ago,children received 5 vaccines routinely (diphtheria, pertusis, tetanus, polio and smallpox vaccines) and as many as 8 shots by 2 years of age. Today children receive 11 vaccines routinely and as many as 20 shots by 2 years of age." One hundred years ago autism was unheard of. Forty years ago the rate was probably less than 1 in 10,000. The 1 in 150 present rate can no longer be ignored. The parents of many vaccine injured autistic children have stated that their child was developing normally until a particular vaccine caused their child to become autistic. The response from pediatricians is that the cause of their child's autism was a "coincidence" rather than a "causal factor" . This response seems to be supported by both the CDC and FDA based on their failure to address this serious problem. The children were divided into three groups: those that received "All", "Some" or "None" of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommended vaccines. The conclusion of the research report was: Children who received all of the AAP recommended vaccinations were 14 times more likely to become learning disabled and 8 times more likely to become autistic compared with children who were never vaccinated.
