As of April 1, 2002, there will be no generic, METAL armor available due to the fact of rusting difficulties. Salt air does that, and this must be addressed. The only METAL armor available as of that date would be a light breastplate that has a soak of 35% and a penalty of –10 to evade with a possibility of rusting after 6 weeks.

This does not affect a dragon’s natural hyde in any way.

The “rusting rule” would also affect metal weapons, such as swords, daggers, and axes where they would require a periodical “dipping” at the citadel. Dippings will be of a clear or visible coat, at a cost to be determined by the Citadel depending on type of blade and coat chosen.

Mages are NOT able to cast at all when wearing an armor that soaks more than a robe. This includes Dual Class Mages such as the Fighter/Mage where she would have to use robes as an armor or no armor at all to cast magic fluently.

On another note, Full Knights (meaning non-dual-classed), as being formally trained, will have the ability to wear any armor without penalties to their evade percentage.
