The Crystal Shores Seamasters' Association is comprised of volunteer Colonists who possess the desire and stamina to patrol and keep safe assigned segments of beach whilst trying to do the impossible: Harness the sea's fury. This is NOT a guild, nor is this an affiliation with the Silver Seaport Auxiliary Guard (SSAG), and there are no powers given to Seamasters above that of common Citizen Arrest.

This is, simply, an organization comprised of volunteers who love a difficult challenge, who wish to keep the Isle pristine, especially at times of gruesome shipwreck.

Volunteers should be trustworthy, honest and with the Isle's best interest at heart. (See GM footnote below in credits.)

Seamasters should be those familiar with the sea and her ways, knowing the Tides, knowing where the shoals are, and willing to climb the treacherous volcano in deep fog, to assemble and light a mass of torches to beckon vessels in distress to land, as well as forewarn outgoing ships of bad weather conditions. Those trained in Fighting and Magery are given preference for placement as Seamasters, but anyone with a love for the Sea is welcome to apply.
Lifesavers would be ones willing to take a small vessel into rough sea (when possible) to try to save a ship's crew and/or passengers before doom strikes. Knights, Bards, Healers, Priests and any owning their own vessels are given preference to placement as Lifesavers, but anyone with a wish to save those from impending doom are welcome to apply. Shopkeepers are asked to give clothing and nonperishable foods to an emergency supply for those rescued, to be stored in the Seamasters' Lighthouse (To Be Built in 1/02.)
Wreckmasters should call for help to have survivors brought to a place of shelter, should be of an ilk that is above pilfering from the bodies they must recover, and endeavor to send any valuables recovered to the victims' families. They will strive to work as quickly as possible to remove debris from the beach thereby rendering it usable by the colonists. Thieves are strongly discouraged from applying for Wreckmaster Positions.

Accepted Applicants, after training, will get a yearly stipend of 5000 gp; Foul-weather clothing (4 pairs heavy pants, 4 heavy tunics, 2 pairs boots, 2 pairs gloves), One (1) 25-ft. length of rope, and a 25% Discount in the Time and Tide Marine Shop, as well as free docking at the Silver Seaport Marina for as long as one remains an active member.

The Crystal Shores Seamasters' Association is based loosely on the Lifesaving Services that preceded factions such as lifeguards and beach maintenance, in days of old. Wreckmasters were, as the game portrays, assigned certain segments of beach per man to patrol, clean and sort when doomed ships would awash onto the sand. Some Wreckmasters were notorious of filling their journals and paperwork with notations such as "nothing of value found" on the bodies of those recovered, but sometimes moneybelts were found stashed near where the Wreckmaster lived. We are attempting to capture the essence of a true event but with a Medieval Fantasy's twists and turns. Authored 26 October, 2001, by ExiledGM, for the Crystal Shores IRC Roleplaying Game.
