It haunts her, the memory of that mask, of that face – she dreams of spotlight, glamorous costumes and searching frantically in the audience for that flash of white that covers such a gruesome (beautiful, beloved, betrayed) visage and out of the corner of her eye she sees the swish of a long, black, familiar cloak and she turns her head, dreading (longing, hoping, wishing) – but she always wakes before she sees, her heart filled with a sense of fear (anticipation).
Her Angel will come for her; she feels it in every heartbeat, in every note she sings.
She is waiting.
