Microphthalmic White: A near fatal genetic fault that occurs by breeding either Dals, or Roans, or Dal & Roan together, results in a blind, deaf & often toothless cavy, often dying at birth, & does not often reach maturity, due to internal problems too. (Please dont try to breed them)
Mosaic: A four coloured cavy, which has patches of colour, like a Tri-col or Tort & white, but with an extra colour. Like Black Choc, Gold & White, mine is Slate, Lilac, Gold & White.
Pink Eyed Cream: Not many around, often better undercolour than the Self Cream, not as typy, & the ones I have bred, in the past have bred true, after 2 generations. Crested P.E. Cream shown.
Siamese Smoke Pearl (Lilac Sable): A new colour appeared in one of my litters, I now have a marten smoke pearl (a foxed version of this). ruby tinted eyes as they mature Shown my sow.
Solid Agouti (ticked bellied): Unlike our usual Agoutis in the UK, this has the Agouti pattern all over. Some in the UK already. (I now have a few myself) Shown Miss Whistles owned by Natalie . _______________________________________________________________ Other Varieties from the USA
Baldwin & Skinny Pigs: Have no hair, some do have a bit of hair on their faces. Lola & PeeWee owned by Rhonda
Rainbow: A multi coloured cavy, which has stripes of colour from one side of its body to the other, instead of patches.
Teddy: Like the Rex in the UK, the Teddy has curly hair, but if a Teddy & Rex are paired, smooth coats result, the Teddy gene is not the same as the Rex gene. This Tort & white Teddy belongs to Natalie & is called Clarissa.
