FIRST DAY SCRIPT
I. Before Class
A. Check classroom to make sure it is organized.
B.  Have name tents out so that students will know where to sit when entering class
C. Stand outside classroom, greet all students.

II Starting Class
A Have students sit according to seating chart
B Hand outs, school forms, i.e. getting to know you (what is your hobbies, favorite color) and classroom procedures. (I would list the procedures such as respect others, raise your hand before speaking, and list them in no order. Then I would ask the students to arrange in the order they think is most important.  After a tally I would post them in the class in the order the students chose.)

II During Class
A. Tell students expectations for the year. (Do your best, keep trying)
B. Goals for the students to achieve. (My expectations and School’s)
C. Have students give or share information about themselves. (One of the forms)
D. Give students information about myself
E.  Stress to my students the important difference between the physcial and metaphyscial. Understanding that the discussion will arise but science versus religion will not monoploize class time.  Also explain that science and religion can coexist, give the example that one of the three men that came up with the Big Bang/Expanding universe was a carndial in the Vatican.

IV Closing Class
A. Remind students of classroom procedures
B. Remind students of forms to be turned back in next class
C. Assign students a though assignment about what they like or dislike about school to share next class time.
