Today is the day when bold kites fly,
When cumulus clouds roar across the sky.
When robins return, when children cheer,
When light rain beckons spring to appear.
Today is the day when daffodils bloom,
Which children pick to fill the room,
Today is the day when grasses green,
When leaves burst forth for spring to be seen.
-Robert McCracken

To the tune of Pop! Goes the Weasel
I'm a seed that's in the ground.
I get sunshine and water
I grow a stem, some leaves, and then
Pop! I'm a flower.

Five Spring Flowers
The first one said, "We need rain to grow!"
The second one said, "Oh my, we need water!"
The third one said, "Yes, it is getting hotter!"
The fourth one said, "I see clouds in the sky."
The fifth one said, "I wonder why?"

Then BOOM went the thunder
And ZAP went the lightning!
That springtime storm was really frightening!
But the flowers weren't worried -- no, no, no, no!
The rain helped them to grow, grow, GROW!

Bees soon will buzz,
Rabbits soon will hop,
Birds soon will sing,
Frogs soon kerplop.
Chicks soon will peep,
Kids soon will play,
Sun soon will shine,
A fine spring day!

A little garden flower
Is lying in its bed.
A warm spring sun
Is shining overhead.
Down come the raindrops
Dancing to and fro.
The little flower awakens
And starts to grow.
