Our History Cumberland Masonic Lodge was granted charter by the Grand Lodge of Indiana in 1926, and formed in 1927, with William F. Hilkene, the first Worshipful Master. The original building was located on the N.E. corner of Cumberland Rd, and Washington Street (U. S. 40) in the town of Cumberland. The Lodge moved to its second building in 1952, still located on the same corner in Cumberland. The Lodge was then moved to its current location on March 24, 1969 on land donated by Mr. Frank Kitley, about 2 miles from its previous location; dedication was held on May 3, 1969. Besides the Blue Lodge, the building is shared with the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #515, and the International Order of Job's Daughters, Bethel # 67. Along with these bodies, the Lodge was once shared with the Order of DeMolay. The Lodge still holds this charter, and is currently seeking to re-establish this body.
