The Antonia was launched on March 11, 1921 and completed on June 3, 1922. She made her maiden voyage from Southampton to Montreal on June 15, 1922. In 1928 she made her first voyage on the Liverpool to Montreal service. In October 1940 the Antonia entered service as an Armed Merchant Cruiser. On March 24, 1942 she was sold to British Admiralty and converted to a repair-ship. In 1944 she was placed in service as HMS Wayland and served until 1948 when she was broken up in Scotland.
