KingsCrest Apartment Homes (Club house/pool/tennis to right)

We Move Again!!

Our three-month corporate housing was up this month, so we found this wonderful new place just 2 miles from my work to move our stuff into.  No more rush hour traffic, only one traffic signal and I can turn right on red.  I might even be able to ride my bike to work this summer.  I’ve been home for lunch everyday that I’ve not been in training.  It is a two bedroom (well, one bedroom plus a now box-stuffed den), two bath, 1,000 square foot, first floor end unit.  We are looking forward to the pool and tennis courts, but will miss the racket ball court we had in our last apartment complex.

Winter Driving in Maryland:

Ah, spring looks like it will arrive after all.  Thought we moved to Vermont there for a while.  Maryland got three 6-12 inch snow storms four days apart.  It is so funny how snow paranoid people are here, I thought CT was bad.  The storm we got 12 inches in the schools were closed for two days, the next day there was a 2 hour opening delay, and the next a one hour delay.  Jerry and I were driving around the day after the “big” storm (which was about 40 degrees and sunny) with no trouble whatsoever.  Oh well, got a day off of work, anyway!!  The big winter driving hazard here is black ice.  They don’t sand the roads, only salt them.  So once the temperature drops into the twenties everything turns to ice with no sand for gripping.

From Ginger:

Ginger, our cat, has adjusted well to the new apartment.  We have a southern exposure so she gets to lie in the sun once again.  The last apartment had a northern exposure and never got any sun, poor plants.  She hasn’t been here long enough to want to go out, but we are next to a swampy area that should give her room to hunt and play.  She would sit just outside the door of the last place.  She and Jerry had a bonding experience at the vet for her shots.
