Click to enlarge   A view of the Cowpens port side while at anchor.   Picture reportedly taken while in Tokyo Bay.  Closer examination of the original photograph shows what appears to be a fleet carrier in the distance astern of the Cowpens.  Historical accounts list two CVL's, Cowpens and Bataan, and two CVE's as the only carriers in Tokyo Bay at the surrender.  More likely this picture was taken at the anchorage at Ulithi Atoll.
