Who Am I?

Born: 1964 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada....but who cares about vital statistics.

I am the youngest of 5 children..all girls except for me. Not only that, the youngest girl was 7 years older than I. We lived in a large 3 story semi-detached house in the east-end affectionately know as "The Beaches". Some call it "The Beaches" , other say "The Beach". Truthfully, there are several beaches at the waterfront in the area so it has to be plural...come on. I can't think of a better place to grow up as a kid. Water, parks and sand - everything a kid needs to keep himself busy.

It's hard to remember my sisters and I as a family. The last girl moved out when I was 12 so the memories are thin. My strongest memories of us are of the cottage we had at Jackson's Point on Lake Simcoe. Packing up the car Friday night. What seemed like hours and hours of driving to get there. The turn around the corner where the lake finally came into view. The musty smell when you first open the door is something I would never pass up.

Daytime was spent going down to the beach and having to walk on the gravel road to get there. I always remember not wearing my shoes and having to tip-toe as if the rocks would slice open your foot. We sold the cottage when I was approximately 12..and cottage life ended :(

Everything in-between the ages 12 and 34 is just not important. In the summer of 1997, my mother died and to accomandate the large number of guests that weekend, we were lucky enough to rent a cottage on Sturgeon Lake.
