Welcome to the truth about Dublin's Cycle Paths.

This site tries to help Dublin Cyclists discern between the hype, the spin and the actual truth of Dublin, Ireland's 'Strategic Cycle Network'.

The photograph on the left shows part of a 'Cycle Route' into Dublin, this is in the city centre, in Amiens Street, just before the International Financial Services Centre. This is just one example of part of the 'Dublin Cycle Network'. The authorities claim to have constructed '320km of cycle track' but have not published any evidence to support this claim.

This is Dublin, Ireland - where cyclists are obliged by law to use 'cycle tracks'. However, there are no laws in Ireland governing the quality or usefulness of 'cycle tracks', all of which are at the discretion of government and local authorities. Most of Dublin's cycle tracks are sub-standard and operate on a part-time basis. The following pages show photographs of what is imposed on Dublin cyclists. The authorities claim that Dublin has 320km of cycle tracks. The truth of this statement depends on how a 'cycle track' is defined.
