I will never forget when we first wrote,
And I received your private note,
And a flame inside me did ignite,
As one on one, we were to write.
Sometimes I wonder and think about,
Why one like you would ever doubt,
How wonderful you are inside,
And how I wish I were by your side.
I think you are so special to share with me,
A part of who you are to be,
And your thoughts and secret dreams,
You do not realize how much that means.
I hope that over time you will trust,
And lean on me, if you must,
Amidst a world which can be so cruel.
I hope you never lose your light,
And hope forever it burns so bright,
And we look back fondly when we are done,
And remember the night we went one on one.
