RUBIN
BIS/BISS Grand Champion
Dalmeadow Brave Dancer ET
I could never have imagined the excitement and fun that would be involved in showing my wonderful Rubin.  It would be impossible to find a more dedicated or devoted dog.  Rubin was my introduction to the competitive world of Dog Showing and he certainly proved himself to be an outstanding example of the breed. It would be unrealistic to list all of his many wins but they accumulated in him being awarded TOP DALMATIAN for 5 Consecutive years in the Dalmatian Club of NSW Country Pointscore.
Also amongst his more impressive wins is the fact that he was a
Best In Show & Runner Up winner - Specialty Shows,
Multiple Best In Show & Runner Up - All Breeds.
He was awarded the title of Australian
GRAND Champion at just over four years of age under the old system (Best Of Breed points did not count).
He is the sire and grand sire of numerous Champions, Best In Group
and In Show Winners. These include dogs such as
Aust Champion Dalhaven Strike A Pose ET
Aust Champion Dalhaven High Society ET
Aust Champion Dalhaven Shut Upn Kiss Me
Aust Champion Dalhaven The Charleston ET
Aust Champion Dalhaven Hey Big Spender
and many winners for other breeders.
Rubin was also a Royal Show Best Of Breed Winner
(Canberra Royal 2001 under English Breed Specialist).

Unfortunately, we lost Rubin at the end of 2005 to cancer.  He was a Grand Show dog and a Grand family member. He will always be remembered by all at Dalhaven.

Show Critiques
1998 Dalmatian Club Of NSW Specialty Show
Judge: Mr Peter Rance of the legendary 'Olbero' kennel, UK.
Rubin won a class of 12 in the Australian Bred Dog class.  The judge said of him:
"This is a really super black spotted dog, so nicely balanced and so much the type I admire.  He has a lovely head which he carries at the right angle.  Neck & topline absolutely right with tail carriage spot on.  He has a good depth of body and bend of stifle.  I would like a bit more angulation of pastern.  His showmanship & movement were first class".

1996 Dalmatian Club of Victoria Specialty Show
Judge: Mr R Gregory of the 'Spotarton' kennel, UK.
Rubin was awarded Best In Show.  The judge said of him:
"This dog really caught my eye, so perfect in size and correct in balance.  Kind head with good eye, correct set of ear.  Soundly constructed with the correct balance of height to length of back.  Good set of tail.  A true and stready mover.....".
