The second most prevalent trait I see in her is unflappability. Nothing disturbs her. She is calm, cool, and collected. Meg was just coming out of heat and was still irritable. She did not want to get along with Lizzy. Lizzy would not fight with her and would not back down from her. She just solidly stood her ground.
We took her to see the cows while she was here. She looked interested in them, but not at all afraid but not ready to jump right in with them, either. She just watched. I think this is what a dog should do when they don't know the routine!
I mentioned to her owner, Alexandra Logan, that I did not see any herding instinct in her. Alexandra said that when Lizzy was a pup she was trying to herd EVERYTHING. They do not have animals that need herded, so her herding was discouraged. Lizzy is so biddable that she just quit herding. She comes from herding lines.
She accompanied me to my cribside calls every night. When the baby would awaken crying, she would meet me at the foot of the stairs to go up with me. The kids loved her.
