Misc: He writes all the lyrics and co-writes the music with Ben Gillies. His inspiration mainly comes from TV documentaries, world events and experiences from his own life so far. He uses between 2-4 guitars per gig, not because he smashes them, but because they are differently tuned for each different song. During the writing of Neon Ballroom, he moved to his parents beachhouse, and totally isolated himself from rest of the world. He later admitted that he had an eating disorder in that period. He is gratefully up again. Daniel is very quiet when he is around other people that he does not know. Daniel is vegetarian and supports the Animal Liberation.
He loves animals(of course). He likes to write poems and draw art.
When he is at home, he likes to relax and watch tv - Ricky Lake, South Park and Neighbours. He does'nt smoke or do drugs. He has a tattoo of an eagle on his ankle - it's a sign that shows he supports The Animal Liberation - It is in the size of a cup.
Before starting Silverchair he wrote rap songs. When he was a little kid he used to play trumpet. He never really wanted to be the singer in Silverchair.
If he was God for 5 minutes, he would make everyone (in
cluding himself) more compassionate.
