Having had a successful career in Delivering Learning, Communication, Documentation and Public Relations with extensive international and multi-cultural experiences working as a teacher in the UK, and with the International Committee of the Red Cross, International Federation of Red Cross, American Red Cross and other Red Cross national societies and the West African Examinations Council, I have had the opportunity to build a strong career in education, communication and the ability to supervise large number of workers and students and coordinate projects and programs. I have enhanced my communications career by attaining MSc. in Strategic Business IT from the University of Portsmouth. UK. The MSc Strategic Business IT equips professionals with the ability to identify and analyze business needs of their organizations and enhance business planning using IT tools and strategies.

GHANA RED CROSS SOCIETY

Communications and Public Relations Coordinator:                   May 2002– Dec 2003
Responsible for local and international collaboration, media relations, damage prevention and control, communications project management, publications and social marketing.

Specific Accomplishments:

-Coordinated the national project on mothers’ club in collaboration with the Health Department of GRCS

-coordinated all communication facilities in the measles immunisation project in 2002/2003. This was in collaboration with the American Red Cross and the International Federation of the Red Cross

- Social Marketing coordination for the fun games in the Red Cross 2002/2003

-Main point of contact for all Ghanaian victims in the September 11 disaster in USA. This was collaborated with the Tracing and Disaster Unit. The tracing and Reunion project was sponsored by the American Red Cross.

-Produced the Red Cross Newsletter sponsored by ICRC

- Trained Regional Coordinators of communications and PR in all regional capitals of Ghana

-Worked with the Ghana Armed Forces on training programs on the principle of the Red Cross.

 
WEST AFRICAN EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL

Public Relations Officer       Jan 2000– April 2001

Responsible for media relations, damage control and prevention, publications, government policy and communication

Specific Accomplishments:

-The first PR officer to market the Business and Information Technology Examinations introduced by the Council in 2001
- Coordinated internal communication training programs

-Produced all internal newsletters

-Implemented new communications strategies on internal affairs in the Accra office of WAEC

 

CENTRE FOR SOCIAL POLICY STUDIES

Responsible for communication, media projects, research support and documentation in the Howard Library in CSPS Legon.

Specific Accomplishments:

- The initiator and first editor of the Policylines, A newsletter of CSPS sponsored by UNICEF-Ghana in 1997/98.

-Organised the first CSPS Conference for Ghanaian Parliamentarians in 1998

-Coordinated the CSPS web sited with the Odyssey Group from UK

-Developed a communication strategy for CSPS in media connectivity and collaboration.

 

GHANA NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME- KEEA DISTRICT

District Coordinator Sept 1995- Dec.1996

Managing national service projects in the Elmina District. Responsible for coordination of NSS projects in collaboration with the Ministries of Education, Agriculture and Health.

Specific Accomplishments:

-Participated in all District Assembly Development Schemes

-Managed the NSS budget to meet project expectations

-Coordinated youth programs including HIV/AIDS education among national service personnel

-Developed a guideline for time management in the Elimina NSS office
