Caldicott castle is located along the border of Wales with England. My wife and I ran across the castle in 1991 while travelling from Cheltenham to Cardiff. We had intended to visit Caerphilly castle nearby and decided to stop along the way when we say the signs for Caldicott. The castle ruins proved to be a pleasant side excursion from our itinerary. The proprietors of the grounds provide an audio cassette tour for visitors that allows you to explore the castle at your own pace while hearing interesting facts about the castles construction, occupants, and history. The grounds and towers of the castle were well maintained and scenic. |
