The party is camped in Glen Bruichaich. Tarl uses curing magic to heal Rhyawdd and the dwarves. Kieren uses regeneration stone to heal. Lianna learns shield spell.

Next morning, October 13, party regroups and proceeds to the Corrimony Cairn. En route they are ambushed by magic wielding creatures that can’t be seen. two quickling sentries who are looking for them. Kieren and Gudrum are attacked with some kind of sound attack (shatter spell?) that causes all the crystals, Ioun stones, gems, glass, and ceramic they are carrying to shatter to dust. Gudrum loses Kieren’s regeneration Ioun stone, a gem of seeing, and some cairngorms which are turned to dust. Kieren’s loses and unknown Ioun stone along with 3 potions that he is carrying.

Brook casts detect invisible then faerie fire to outline one of the creatures. Gudrum attacks and misses. Liothien kills the creature with a single bow shot. The creature is approximately 18" tall with elven features. The creature is wearing fancy black and silver attire and has a cairngorm stone, 2 potion vials (full) and some coins and gems. Brook identifies the creature as a Quickling, an evil type of fairy that moves very quickly and is difficult to see.

The party proceeds to the Cairn without further incident. Rhyawdd and Kieren lead the way in to the Cairn. They set off an explosion on a pile of bones. They discover 2 skeletons in an alcove near the entrance. They defeat them but Rhyawdd sets off another explosion of bones. Kieren casts detect magic and senses two emanations in the passage before him. One of them turns out to be a zombie, which Rhyawdd dispatches (it explodes). The other is the skeletal rat. Kieren begins prodding the rat skeleton with a 10’ pole and it moves away. A heavy mist descends upon the hallway. 4 shadows appear from the mist and attack the party. Rhyawdd is hit twice. Tarl turns the Shadows!

Kieren and the party cautiously proceed down the hall. Brook stays behind to guard the entrance to the Cairn. A concussive shock wave tears through the party causing serious injury to everyone but Gudrum. Rhyawdd’s Ioun stone is shattered from the blast. Kieren decides to unleash a lightning bolt down the hall. Unbeknownst to him Brook casts evaporation to remove the mist. Kieren charges down the hall into a zombie in the alcove where some stairs are. Kieren sees a snake-like creature with a human head on the stairs. Kieren casts silence 15’ radius in the stairs where the Naga? is. Lianna attacks the zombie which explodes injuring her and Kieren.

Liothien calls for the dwarves to help him close the other open crypt. Meanwhile Tarl is healing Rhyawdd. Rhyawdd charges down the stairs with Tarl and Kieren in close pursuit. Rhywadd gains the lower chamber and proceeds to the left. At the left hallway he sees a zombie with a staff, bracers and circling Ioun stone above its head. The zombie begins casting a spell on Rhyawdd, who is choked by spectral hands. Shortly afterwards Rhyawdd is magically blinded.. Tarl enters the chamber and shoots his poisoned hand crossbow at the zombie and misses. The zombie casts a spell at Tarl who is choked by spectral hands. Kieren enters the chamber and sees the naga in the right hallway. He shoots at the naga with his bow and misses. The naga casts a spell at Kieren but it has no effect. The dwarves charge down the steps and engage the zombie spell caster. Lianna enters the chamber and throws magic missiles at the zombie but they appear to have no effect as the impact harmlessly in front of it (shield spell?). Kieren and Lianna throw lightning bolts at the naga and kill it. Tarl casts a light spell at the zombie to blind it , but the spell does not work.. The dwarves attack the zombie and miss… he is much harder to hit than they expect. The zombie reaches into a pouch and extracts a gem which flashes brightly and blinds the dwarves momentarily. Liothien tries a killing shot with his bow against the zombie and misses.

Lianna webs the zombie and the dwarves that are engaging it. Tarl proceeds to where the dead Naga lays and is attacked by a zombie hidden in a nearby alcove. He can’t turn it . Kieren and Liothien kill the zombie with arrows and it explodes doing 16 HP damage to Tarl who is unconscious at 0 HP. The spectral hands are still choking Tarl even though he is unconscious. Lianna proceeds down the hall toward the webs and asks Rhyawdd for his ring of free action. She puts it on and enters the webs to kill the zombie. Lianna finds the zombie that is held motionless in the webs. She grabs the Ioun stone from above the zombies head. From beyond the webs someone utters a word and Lianna disappears. There are further utterances from beyond the webs and a heavy mist descends upon the party in the hallway. Visibility is reduced to 2’. Kieren senses the passage of a evil entity nearby and attempts pursuit.

Topside at the entrance to the Cairn: Brook is attacked by the two quicklings. They levitate him. He casts detect invisible and then magic missiles one of them. Brook falls and doesn’t remember what has happened. Brook is levitated and notices two quicklings in the distance. He cast 2 magic missiles and then falls. The pit is magically excavated beneath Brook and he falls in it..
