Endralseth
Moon-Struck Lair
Darkling Dawn
Personas
The first thing he was aware of was that he was extremely cramped. Later, he would reason that that wasn't all that surprising, considering the fact that he shared a rather small egg with his sister. He struggled against the shells of his egg, and his twin soon followed. He felt the egg rocking back and forth from their combined efforts.
Suddenly, the walls around them gave way with a rip and a crack, and the two dragons fell to the ground in the outside world in a heap. He climbed to his feet-dark brown with red-gold speckles-and looked around him, noting briefly the candidates huddled around the eggs and hatchlings. He turned his head to look at his mother as she announced her latest children's names to the crowd.
The girl shall be called Lereide, and the boy will be Endralseth. The speckled brown nodded his head slightly in assent and took a closer look at the people huddled around the dragons.
None stood out to him, and he turned back to his mother with a puzzled look. While several of the candidates looked on hopefully, Endralseth said,
I think I'll just go to Darkling Dawn, then. Is that alright, Mother?
At the white's absent-minded nod, the brown hatchling strode off by himself to find food, then find the representitives of Darkling Dawn.

He found them wandering around the lair's halls, sight-seeing. Thay were both dragons of the Pernese breed, one a medium-sized brown, while his smaller companion's hide was a deep sapphire blue. Unlike Cyrnan dragons, they had no colored stripes or other distinguished markings; their hides were pretty much the same color and shade all over.
Endralseth flicked his dark tail eagerly and trotted to meet the new arrivals. He looked up at the dragons, excitement flickering in his deep brown eyes.
Hi. He said, and both dragons turned to study the hatchling. Are you the ones from Darkling Dawn?
The brown nodded his head, flicking an amused glance towards his blue companion.
Yes, we are. I am Arajaxth, this is my bond, Ciqantath. He said, gesturing with one wing towards the  tiny blue. The blue bobbed his head silently in greeting.
My name's Endralseth. The speckled brown said with a curious grin on his face. What's Darkling Dawn like? Is it big? Does it rain a lot there? He asked, head cocked to one side. I hope it doesn't, I don't like rain. He added thoughtfully.
Ciqantath chuckled in amusement and spoke up.
I take it you're the one we came here to take back with us, then?
Yes. Endralseth nodded. So when do we leave? He inquired, his mouth quirking upwards in a grin.
Ciqantath lifted his head, glancing around them.
As soon as we tell the leaders we've come, I suppose. The dark blue said with a shrug.
Endralseth nodded, content with the blue's answer. A few minutes later, he was regaling the duo of full grown dragons with questions and comments abouts what his new home would be like.
Name: Endralseth
Color: Speckled brown
Gender: Male
Personality: Endralseth is calm and practical. He is the kind of dragon who always thinks things through before he does them. He is intelligent and will likely one day be very good at flying.
The sky was dark and heavy with rain clouds, but Endralseth didn't care. He was too busy enjoying the freedom of flight, which he had had little chance of doing lately, what with the frequent thunderstorms during the past few weeks. Darkling Dawn was a rather nice place to live, all in all, but it wasn't usually so...wet.
Endralseth valued flight, and reveled in the feeling of being held aloft with the power of nothing but his own two wings. Which was why he hated storms so much. Lots of rain and strong, gusting winds made flying difficult, uncomfortable, and dangerous. But Endralseth had been cooped up inside for far too long already; which was why he was outside now, despite the obvious signs of imminent rainfall.
The speckled brown twisted in midair, curving his body in a circle and doubling back to continue in the opposite direction. The air was too cold for thermals, so he had to work especially hard to get any altitude, and he was tiring fast.
Reluctantly, he furled his wings in one last, exhilerating dive, letting the wind whip over his long, bulky body. He unfurled his wings suddenly, stretching the dark red wingsails to their limits as his decent was rapidly halted, and lowered at a considerably slower pace.
He back-winged and landed on the soft, wet ground beside the feeding grounds-and promptly tripped over his feet and fell to the mud with a crash. It had been raining for the last several days; naturally, the ground had become slick with mud. As if the universe was laughing at him, the sky took that precise moment to release a downpour on the mud-spattered dragon laying sprawled on the ground with his face covered in mud.
Endralseth growled as he climbed to his feet, his claws slipping and sliding on the wet ground, threatening to send him back to the ground. Grumbling to himself darkly, he shook himself off, sending water flying in all directions, and prowled off to his weyr to dry off and clean up.
A dark brown, winged shape perked up as the brown dragon entered his weyr. The alis gryph purred, trotting over to rub against Endralseth's front leg like a cat. The cat-bird hybrid turned away and cleaned the mud off its fur with its beak as Endralseth snorted.
Well, hello to you too, Masuni. He muttered. Your heartfelt welcome warms me to my bones.
Masuni only purred again, and sat staring at him with warm brown eyes, flicking his tail back and forth idly behind him. The minituare gryphon fluttered his wings and climbed onto the smoothed area of stone that served as the dragon's bed, glaring at Endralseth when he approached. He was clearly saying, "I'm not going to have anything more to do with you until you are clean and moderately dry."
Edralseth growled at the alis gryph, rollling his eyes as he turned away. The closest source of water for him was the lake, on the other side of the dragonry. Then again, considering how it was pouring outside, if he stepped out onto the ledge it was almost like taking a shower. Endralseth shrugged. Waste not, want not...
He stepped back into the weyr, considerably cleaner than before, though no less wet. He shook the water from his hide, making Masuni hiss from his position on Endralseth's dragon bed as he got soaked.
Oh, hush! Endralseth snapped at the alis gryph.
Masuni made a noise deep in his throat, then trotted over to rub against the dragon's leg once Endralseth had dried off. Endralseth huffed and plopped down on the stone bed. Now that the rain prevented any form of fun outside the dragonry, he was bored out of his skull. Masuni curled against his side, purring, and the alis gryph's deep thrumming lulled the dragon to sleep...

Water glistened on the grass blades the next morning, creating a pristine and peaceful picture of Darkling Dawn in the early morning. Most creatures at the dragonry were still asleep, so Endralseth had the sky mostly to himself.
After bringing down a large wherry in the feeding pens for his breakfast, he caught sight of a pale cream dragoness approaching. He recognized her as Tucine, a fellow unbonded dragon hatched at a place called Star City Dragonry. She crooned cheerfully to him as she approached, and he looked up from his meal.
Hello! Hey, you're Endralseth, right? She barely noticed his nod as she continued talking. Well, I'm Tucine, I was wondering if you wanted to go someplace with me?
Endralseth blinked.
Where?
The cream dragoness settled down beside him and curled her tail around her legs.
Well, I wanted to visit Star City, where I was born, and maybe get a pet cyborbot as well. I thought you might want to go with me, and besides, I don't really want to go alone...
Endralseth readily agreed; he didn't want the female dragoness to be lonely, and besides, she was rather cute...

Are you sure you want to stay here by yourself? Tucine asked him after Endralseth told her he had signed up to stand for the clutches. Her new cyborbot, a feline-shaped robot called Siamiro wrapped himself around her legs. The 'bot's glowing blue eyes stared up at Endralseth.
He shrugged.
Yes. Don't worry, I'll be fine. Oh! And make sure you take care of Masuni for me while I'm gone.
The cream nodded her head.
Sure. Alright then, good luck. I hope you bond well! She said. Picking up the feline 'bot, she left to return to Darkling Dawn.
Endralseth watched her leave, and hoped clutches hatched soon.
