Appearance: Duane is tall, but tends to be on the pudgy side and has a weak frame. He has pale skin, with a thick covering of reddish-brown fur on his tail and ears, both cat-shaped. His tail is medium-length and doesn't quite touch the ground when he walks, and his black-tipped ears are crowned by long tufts of fur. He has narrow, blue-grey eyes, while his fluffy, wavy hair is dark brown and just reaches the nape of his neck.
Personality: Highstrung and easily nervous, Duane is characterised by a great deal of pent up energy. He is rarely seen sitting still, and even then, it is rare to see him without his ears swiveling constantly or his tail twitching nervously. He is scared easily and very shy, especially around humans. He much prefers to be by himself, where he can draw, or daydream.
Past: Duane was born on Athanasia at a time when tension between humans and halflings was at an all-time high. Predictably, it lead to war by the time he was in his teens, and the young caracal-halflling eagerly signed up to be a soldier. His parents were not pleased-his mother was in fact, a human-but he went anyway. While not necessarily winning a complete victory against humans, the war eventually died away and lead to greater freedom and acceptance for halflings in general, and Duane retired in peace at the age of twenty-five. From his home city, he found his way offworld by accident, ending up at a place called Darkling Dawn, home to several fellow Athanasians. He stayed there for a number of weeks, but got bored and wandered off to yet another offworld dragonry, where he Impressed brown-white Meonouth.

Personality: Meonouth is a friendly and gentle-hearted dragon, though, like his rider, he is not particularly outgoing and makes few close friends. He loves watching Duane at his hobby of drawing and has a great fondness for art.
