Personality: Friendly and fairly outgoing, Kelane finds it very easy indeed to make friends—probably helped, at least in part, by her attractive appearance, even though she usually looks more like a boy than a girl. She is a natural-born leader and naturally draws people to her, and she seems to gain the trust of most people pretty quickly. It’s easy to mistake her for a younger boy, both because of the way she dresses and the way she acts, not to mention Ildeth.
Past: Kelane has never shown much interest in doing ‘ladylike’ things, such as sewing or wearing dresses or whatnot. Which is unfortunate, since she was born into a noble family to a mother who was obsessed with making her a lady. Kelane did everything she could to rebel against her widowed mother, including learning to ride, shoot arrows, playing in the mud with the boys, as well as dressing like a boy every chance she got.
Her mother finally got her engaged to a neighboring lord, which Kelane objected to more on basic principal than anything else. (He was actually nice and friendly, and Kelane quite liked him, but she automatically disagreed with anything her mother wanted her to do.) She ran away, (ironically with the help of her would-be fiancé) and got searched and bonded Ildeth.
