Back Story:
I was a cop, a good honest one. I had a pretty good life. I liked my job, loved my wife and kids and owned my own house. Things were good... until that night. I stopped to help what I thought was a stranded RV. I was careful but found only a woman and her kid. Turns out they were both vampires, yeah you heard me, vampires. I didn't think they existed either, I found out different. They killed me, I died. I have to keep telling myself that part, don't seem real. After that, well... I met someone. God? maybe I don't know. I remember reading comics when I was a kid about some cop being killed and God sending him back for vengeance. That's kind of what happened to me. I'm not happy about what's happened, but at least I get the chance to take the fight to the bad guys. And now I can stand toe to toe with most of them. I don't like this changing bodies thing, thankfully I get back looking like myself pretty quick. I don't have any direct contact with my wife and kids, they think I'm dead. Sometimes I send them money if I find it. I hear there are some rich vampires out in California....

Inspiration:
Creighton Duke was created for an email game. He was going to be a revenant which is a person brought back from the dead for some specific purpose, usually the destruction of the evil people that killed him. Think "The Crow" or Clint Eastwood's characters in High Plains Drifter or Pale Rider. I stumbled across an online game just starting up in the "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" universe & game system. I had missed playing Dutch Engstrom and here was a was to bring him back. Well, sort of. Unfortunately, the game never got off the ground or if it did I was never informed. So, Creighton died before he got to live. Creighton's picture is a guy named Kane Hodder, who played Jason Voorhees in 4 Friday The 13th Movies (7-10). And the name Creighton Duke comes from Friday The 13th Part 9/Jason Goes To Hell/The Final Friday. Creighton Duke in Friday 9 was a bounty hunter who utters the famous line of: "I'll have a Voorhees burger and a side of Jason fingers." Of course, when that Creighton meets up with Jason in the movie, he gets his card punched. Mess with the best.... And if you have to be told, yes, I'm a big fan of the Friday the 13th Movies.
