Notes/Background:
Jim Mason, The most famous explorer in the known worlds. He has traveled to Mercury (twice),
Venus (three times), Mars (six times) and even the Asteroid Belt. So when a Royal
went missing who did the Crown want looking for her?
Him, of course.
Mason was resting in one of his his favorite clubs when he was approached by a nicely dressed gentleman who
said his name was Lord Roger Churchill. Mason was impressed, he had head of Lord Churchill
who is said to be one of Britian's top agents and rarely seen in public.
Mason asked Churchill to join him for a drink, knowing obviously something was afoot.
Churchill tells Mason about a missing Princess Elizabeth Stuart who was escorting a Martian Canal
High Priest who was killed.
He also tells Mason about a group of Privateers who were sent to Mars to harass King Hattabranx
but haven't been heard from in 6 months. Mason is also warned about a Martian agent who
had been surgically altered to look Japanese. This agent killed on of Churchill's friends,
a female agent named Gabrielle Thorne. This agent is also believed to be the person who killed the priest.
She is believed to be ruthless, so care must be taken. With that, Mason joined a group of fellow
adventures and left for Mars.
Along this trip it was also revealed that Jack The Ripper was on board and the group caught him.
Mason personally tackled Jack (a corrupt Royal Prince) by jumping off his own vehicle,
tackeling Jack and both falling into the water. Needless to say, the group of
privateers were found, a new airship being built by them,
the missing princess found & Thorne captured.

Creation/Inspiration: Well if the picture doesn't tell you that Sir Sean Connery's portrayal of Alan Quatermain was an influence, then me just typing it won't either. The name comes from two different places. First there is Connery's character in the movie "The Rock", who is obviously James Bond. However, he is named Jim Mason and caught by the USA. The name also comes from a high school football coach/trainer, Jim Mason. Coach Mason was a former Green Beret who was our high school football team's trainer. He was a real "hard ass", but I say that with nothing but admiration. He was something like John Wayne around school, with lots of stories and "legends" about him. Still, he was an honorable man who took no crap. Back
