Background:
The premise of the game was that we (the players) had bought some new VR game system. So instead of Warcraft, we were in "The Wyld". We were controlling the characters via VR interface, so the character knew everything the player knew. Hence, the lack of mental abilities on the character sheet. Knowing the GM of this game, I figured that the "bad guy" spells would probably been more powerful and more interesting. So I took the Defiler Weaves, which means I would defile an area/object/person and steal some of their soul/health and use it to cast my spells. Kind of interesting, I'll give it that. It was more of an inherent ability than a class or profession, if D&D did magic like this I might play magic users more... :) All the spells were created by me, but the GM came up with effects, cost and names. Looking back through them, I see a Mortal Kombat influence in them. Flawless Victory & Scientology were both taken from Shang Tsung's repertoire. I won't bore you with the details of the spells, but if you are totally interested, email me and I'll send you a copy of the specifics.
I can't remember what an Eloshian looks like, but for some reason I'm thinking it was like a shark. Checked my notes, but can't find that for sure. The name comes from an Avenger's villain from a series called Collection Obsession. Just thought it was a cool name, so I used it. I really liked the magic item that made the fire & earth spells look like water & air. That way, the other members didn't know that I was a defiler or would suspect me of defiling them to power my spells. Which is something I probably only do if it meant life or death. Though I'm sure there would be temptation to use it if some player got really really annoying and causing problems. I imagined Thane being some sort of loner hunter, so I took the skill points in hunting, combat and healing.
