Return to Main Page Let me tell you about some of the really cool low-priced places you can take advantage of in Maui & Hawaii! First off, the Banana Bungalow in Wailuku, Maui is a great deal. You can live dorm-style or in your own room. Pay 6 days, get 7th day free. They offer daily tours that are better than the typical commercial tours - they take you hiking! The tours are free, but they ask you tip the driver, like, $10 or something. If you just want to do a dude thing, see the sights, you won't need to rent a car! The Hana tour is great! Banana Bungalow, Wailuku, Maui Link Cafe Marc Aurel is right down the street from the Banana Bungalow. Quality java here (plus a really cool guy:) Cafe Marc Aurel link If you want to be out of town, more in the paradisal Hana area, and don't mind being in a tent or tent cabin, I recommend the Waianapanapa State Park. It's a fine little campground right next to a black sand beach. Plus, it puts you in easy driving of the many splendours of the Hana area. Waianapanapa State Park Information HAWAII While not as nice as the Banana Bungalow, nor as well-priced, Patey's Place does put you in the heart of Kailua on the Kona Coast. Patey's Place link A mere seven minute walk down the hill from Patey's Place, right on Alii Drive, next to the historic church, is your coffe connection: Hula Bean Coffee. A truly wonderful cup of that Kona! brew. Hula Bean Coffee, Kona, Hawaii Hayashi's You Make The Roll is the local sushi paradise. Well-priced fish freshness will lure you into eating every day. He's up the alley of the Kona Marketplace. I think it's named Sarona. He's a 2 minute walk from Hula Bean. (818) 326-1322.
