Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde
Dir. Charles Herman-Wurmfeld
I love the Legally Blonde movies. They show someone who is nice to everyone coming out ahead. Someone who is underestimated by everyone coming out ahead. Someone who loves her dog coming out ahead. Red, White, and Blonde has most of the things that made the first one so much fun. It's not as serious as the first one. (That was a funny line, you should have laughed.) Really, it had some sillier things in it that LB the first. If you want to laugh, though, it's just the ticket.

In LB2 Elle is getting ready for her marriage to Emmett (a.k.a. the Prince Charming from the first one) when she realizes she forgot to invite Bruiser's mother. Bruiser is the Chihuahua-American who is Elle's best friend. When she finds out Bruiser's mom is in an animal testing laboratory, she realizes things - must - be - done. She heads to Washington D.C. to get some laws changed, using her Harvard degree and fashion knowledge to good effect. She finds out how the country is run, finds out how to work the system, and finds out some things about Bruiser at the same time.

It's hilarious, in a giggly kind of way. I think of it as a good cure for a bad day. As an extra gift with purchase, you get to hear a rock version of "I'm just a Bill" that is so good I bought the soundtrack. WARNING: It is a total chick-flick. That should have gone without saying, but just in case...if you don't like chick-flicks, you will not understand why this is such a great movie.

I rate it: Full Price
