Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980/1997)

I had a second cousin who worked (Note the word "worked" as past tense. *sigh*) at 20th Century Fox in PR, so I had a chance to see the movie before it was released in theaters. In fact, my family had the whole theater to ourselves. The AT-AT scene, Yoda, and the whole look of Bespin were the parts that I remembered. Well, that, and I remembered the big discussion with my family about the whole "Darth Vader as Luke's Father" bit. Again, I naively believed that Luke (Versus the Wampa on Hoth), C-3PO, and Han (At Bespin) had been killed when those respective scenes happened. Looking back, I was a really gullible kid. (I was five, gimme a break.) But it was a fun experience, since I was able to play with my cousins while the movie went on, and I got a lot of promotional material... most of which I still have.

Of all the movies, The Empire Strikes Back, without a doubt, is my favorite of the Classic Series. (Note I said "Classic", and not "Overall". I reserve final judgement until I have seen all six movies.) Regardless, Empire has the strongest character development, the best lines, the coolest vehicles, and Lando. How can you not just love Billy Dee, even if he did sell out Han Solo? Regardless, this is the most emotionally compelling movie of the series to me, and one of my all-time favorite films.
