Another family outing. We went to Northpark Mall's movie theater to see the film. It was this film that I realized that the Star Wars movies definitely had some of the best opening sequences around. Also, it was with this film I finally got through my mind that none of the heroes were going to die. Yes, it's true. At 8, I was finally getting a bit of common sense. The fight against Jabba the Hutt, the Rebel team being captured by Ewoks, the unmasking of Darth Vader, and the reuniting of the heroes at the end of the film were the most memorable scenes by far at the time. Again, my second cousin provided me with quite a few cool momentos of the film. Mostly information on the introduction of the Ewoks.
To me, Return if the Jedi ranked third story-wise. Although the rescue of Han Solo from Jabba's Palace is definitely one of my favorite scenes, the action and pacing of the story seemed a bit uneven towards the middle of the film. While I certainly enjoy Return, I just don't think it's as strong a movie as the other two. From this point, die-hard Star Wars fans such as myself would have to wait 16 years until we would get another true glimpse into the world of George Lucas. Fortunately, there were plenty of things to keep fans occupied during that long wait....
