Physical Description: 6'0", 130, skinny as all getout. Fair skin with freckles, orange-red hair that is cut short and grows wild, with a little scraggy gotee, blue-green eyes. He has a scratchy, high broken voice, which might or might not drop anytime soon, probably not, he is well-parrodied around the Halls. He likes bright clothing and often finds paints or dyes to add to their color scheme.

Emotional/Mental Description: he is somewhat flaky, but when he has a job to do he does it, whining all the way. He obsesses about this harper or that, following the best ones around just to listen to her songs. With a dragon, he'll be able to do that even better! He is a bit homosexual, he hasn't really come out enough to know yet, but he relates better to women than men, and isn't all that attracted to anyone at the moment.

Skills: is a good harper, illustrator and can keep a beat. He likes doodling, especially in colors, and is popular with young children because of it. He has a really amazing memory for places, and will be able to flawlessly send his dragon between if he Impresses. He knows many people, somehow meeting them along the many travels he makes, and he keeps up with them by virtue of being a harper.

History: born and raised in Alabaster's craft hall. He has little distinguishing himself until he was Searched, though he has been an Apprentice since he was 9. It is unclear if he intends to become a true journeyman harper, since he doesn't quite know what he would specialize in.

Notes and Special Information: he is soft spoken and kind of strange, but a good friend.

Pets/Hobbies/Posessions: he has a huge black feline named Genesee, who is very protective of Jaizin's stuff when he's gone. He has a lot of stuff. Some of it was made at the Hall but some he's collected on his trips.

BACK to Alabaster Folk

Jaizin came back with one of the large Search riders from another weyr. He was exhausted, confused, and very very unhappy. "What's the matter boo boo," his older sister said on his arrival back to Alabaster. The red-headed boy looked at her with fire in his eyes and tears on his cheeks. "The clutch didn't hatch. None of them did. All the eggs turned out to be--" he choked on his words. Trace suddenly regretted her earlier jibing, this was quite serious. "None of them?" "There weren't many. But... I don't understand how it could have happened. There were lots of people, many good candidates." Jaizin let his tears come. He had kept them back while on the dragon's neck during the ride, but now... There was no reason to hold back any more. The Seascape hatching had been something he was looking forward to for ages, since his first Search. On that, fortunately, his quick mind latched on to and wouldn't let go. "But the search rider said that I'd still make a good candidate. A good rider. So... there's still some hope." Jaizin's tone squeeked out, he was keeping himself together but barely. After a while in silence, and Genesee's deep purr with pleasure that her human had finally come back home, Trace said, "There is another hatching, one at Aden weyr. Lotiapez and Leilani have both gone to it. But they said that there are lots of eggs. Maybe..." "Maybe I should ask them?" Jaizin said, suddenly with a bit of excitement. His face fell quickly though, "what if they already have enough candidates?" "What if they do?" His sister said, perking him up, "the dragons choose. Don't they? So if there are tons of candidates to choose from at least they'll have you to see. I think you should go." Jaizin licked his lips and noticed that the taste of his salty tears was still on his skin. He washed up and went to the stewards' rooms, to ask about going to Aden on their next wagon out.

Genesee was found at Gallimim Weyr I believe... If not, at Naronis... I'm checking. Really I am!
